Saw this in another tread:
I don't trust any anti-virus software where the developer is headquartered in Russia. :biggrin1:
So had to ask on 360 Total Security.
Hear this new free anti-virus, written in China, is very good. Heard it from a computer salesman at Best Buy who says he's been using it on Windows a couple years now with no problems.

Question is anyone using it or know of it?

Using any anti virus software, especially a free one, is kinda like wearing safety glasses when skydiving into an active war zone.

Using something is better than nothing but dont waste your time researching it or looking too much into it.

Some are very helpful and tech savvy, others not so much. Got much solid info from sales & Geek Squad staff there over the years, especially those who like me have dumped M$ and moved to free Linux.

Depends which Free AV is used. Used Norton for a few years till dumping it for free Avast since 2008 for M$. Chose Avast since in was rated a point or two under Norton and Avast has never let me down. Still use Avast for the little I use M$.

For the past 10+ years been using free Linux as my main OS. Linux has bullet proof security that requires NO anti virus software. For the past 10+ years never had any viruses, malware, spyware, high-jacks, or any other nasties that still plague M$. Oh and I hit all the "suspect" and risky hacker and dark Web sites with impunity, something I would be very leery of doing with Windoze. Free Linux just runs. It's nice being M$ or even pricier Mac free!
