Friend of mine just got back from Austria and mentioned he enjoyed the Christmas market in Vienna. I cracked a joke to the effect that he wanted to catch the bombing. Went over his head.

It's not Macron's fault for wanting to make France more competitive in a global economy. He inherited a segregated society, which is a problem in Belgium as well. Globalism has failed, it was already cracking when the Financial Meltdown hit. Developed nations do not want to compromise their wealth and multinationals have kept populations under the thumb of dictators. Nowhere is this worse than in the Middle East, brutal dictators have carte blanche to kill, rape and radicalize. These problem could be placed at the feet of George W Bush, rather than anyone mentioned above. It was under his watch that ISIS was born.
France has done a dreadful job of integrating its ethnic population, Marsaille is the leader in integration but the rest of the country isn't paying attention. Italy isn't much better, however the security services have figured out how to infiltrate sleeper cells. They have the support of The Mossad.

Germany has been kicking Italy for over a decade, it's ironic that Italians had to do Germany's dirty work. Is the Paris shooter still at large? Are the French going to direct him into Italy as well.

The Austrians did it twice, first in 1529 and again in 1683. Deft use of artillery and cavalry in the second war routed the Ottomans and sent many Muslims to Islam Hell and the rest back to Turkey. The Ottomans outnumbered the Austrians substantially both times but were quashed by superior and daring tactics each time.
In 1529, the Turks arrived at Vienna too late. The weather was Austria's ally. Constant rain rendered the Ottoman cannons useless so they withdrew.
In 1683, the Poles saved Austria bacon. The Turks were too busy besieging to city to realize that the Poles had moved cannons up a strategic hill. And what did the Poles get in return, 100 years later their nation ceased to exist.
