from Jan first the US subsidies will fall from 7500 to 3750...and in june to 1900... so it will be interesting to see how this works. I am guess they will cut the price in Jan so they are effectively the same price. I think with the fall in battery prices they can do it.
I think they are already selling all they can build so why sell the cheap car I don't think the battery economics are lining up yet. Right now the 62 KW battery pack costs Telsa about $9300 to manufacture. An incredible achivement and best in the industry.. but that is a LOT of cost not including the very expensive motors and electronics. A car engine is about 800-2000 plus about 750-2000 for a transmission.
