Natives still have problems with running water and Veterans could use the money, but not for Mr Selfie, he's a cool guy with our money.

Trudeau asks Comedy Central host Trevor Noah “that works for you?” But he never asked Canadians.
Justin Trudeau has just promised to give away $50 MILLION more in Canadian taxpayer dollars.

This time, he did it to look cool in front of a celebrity.

Here’s what Trudeau tweeted:

“Hey @Trevornoah – thanks for everything you’re doing to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy at the @GlblCtzn festival. Sorry I can’t be with you – but how about Canada pledges $50M to @EduCannotWait to support education for women & girls around the world? Work for you? Let’s do it.”

None of that $50 million will go to Canadians.

It’s going to foreign countries.

It’s being taken from us, taken from Canadian taxpayers, and sent outside our borders.

Trudeau’s elitist virtue-signalling reaches even more insane levels
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Every time it seems Trudeau can’t get any crazier, he takes things to a new level of insanity.

Take note of how desperate Trudeau is to win the approval of a Comedy Central TV host. He apologizes to Noah, and as ‘compensation,’ is taking $50 million of our dollars and giving it away.

That money could have been spent on Veterans. It could have been spent helping the Alberta oil industry. It could have been spent helping people in Oshawa. It could have been spent on any number of things within our country that would help Canadian citizens.

NOPE.

Instead it’s being used so Trudeau can make a celebrity think he’s cool.

And nothing sums up his attitude more than the fact that he asked Noah if “that works for you?” Yet he never asked the Canadian People if that works for us.

What a disgrace.

you guys are idiots, canada commits to spending money on foreign aid every year, always has and hopefully always will. As for the native water situation, there is no clear solution for it. IMHO if you choose to live in the sticks, you should be ok with boiling you water...

How about using that money on the refugees we already have here living in hotels? It seems like you care more about Palestinians than Native Canadians, $50 million would go a long way in helping the First Nation. Giving foreign aid to other countries when we could use the money on our citizens is just plain stupid IMHO.

As I wrote in another thread, Canada has an obligation to supply foreign aid to the less fortunate. The vast majority of Canadians support that.

Trudeau has got a massive lead in the polls and the lead is going to only grow the more the Tories and their allies in the media persist in attack politics with no alternative policies worth mentioning.

A few guys wagging their fingers on a john board isn't going to change all that.

Oh - and before I forget, Conil advocates a special priority foreign aid / refugee program for WHITE South Africans who are being oppressed by Blacks. Like I always say, you guys just don't like black or brown people.

Well, I invite you to visit the Globe's comment section, on this subject. You'll see how detached from reality you really are.

The Liberals have once again hit 40% of the popular vote. The Conservatives are down to 32%. Hopefully, this will either stay the same or the Liberals lead by an even bigger margin. Bernier is capable of draining out the PC's votes. But, under Harper, the Government had a 5 year plan to aid the Israel's Palestinian program to a tune of $300 million over 5 years. That was acceptable then, but why is this all of a sudden a big issue. Ohhhhhhh, I get it, this is just for Baby Scheer to try and dig desperately into the perception of how "bad" a person Trudeau is. He even has that stupid smirk on his face every time he opens his mouth to attack the Liberals.

It wasn't acceptable to me i'm against foreign aid by either party, The money should be spent here, we have many people and projects that it could be used on here.

I agree, but that type of hypocrisy by baby Scheer just to try and justify the means where he thinks that this will raise his popularity!!

It’s not about the money going to foreign aid!, It’s the optics. Trudeau is a Putz with a capital P, he tells veterans and others that he has no money for them, yet he’ll borrow 50 million and pledge it in a tweet trying to look and sound cool. As I said, he’s a putz.

Just a reminder the polls said that Hillary would win by a landslide...I don’t put any weight in these so called “polls”. That being said Mr Dressup has no idea how to run a country.

Trudeau faces blow back from all corners for $50M giveaway over Twitter

As over-the-top virtue-signalling statements by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau go, this latest one has it all. Early Sunday morning, the PM issued an odd social media post directed at Trevor Noah, the host of the mildly amusing The Daily Show.

Here it is in full: “Hey @Trevornoah – thanks for everything you’re doing to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy at the [Global Citizen] festival. Sorry I can’t be with you – but how about Canada pledges $50M to @EduCannotWait to support education for women & girls around the world? Work for you? Let’s do it.”
It really has everything, doesn’t it? The contrived casual tone. The deference to a so-so American celebrity who is only liked by a rather narrow and niche progressive crowd. The shout-out to Trudeau’s obsession with gender issues, which is so excessive it’s now getting creepy. The reference to a conference that sounds like a fake conference name that someone came up with when joking with their friends about what you’d call an event that’s totally peak Trudeau.

You get the idea. And Trudeau’s been roundly pilloried for it online.
On Monday morning I turned on my Twitter feed and the blowback was coming from all over. The response was non-partisan and even some typically Liberal-compliant journalists got involved.

One of the most popular responses was from Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer, who weighed in to say: “Pledging $50 million in a tweet to impress a TV personality? Taxpayers need a defender not somebody who throws their money around to be popular with celebrities. This is how deficits become massive and permanent.”

Hey @Trevornoah - thanks for everything you’re doing to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy at the @GlblCtzn festival. Sorry I can’t be with you - but how about Canada pledges $50M to @EduCannotWait to support education for women & girls around the world? Work for you? Let’s do it.

That’s what rubbed so many people the wrong way. Not the project or the cause. But the flippant manner, how Trudeau just seemed to be tossing $50 million around like he’s throwing a fiver in a jar at some charity event at his local bar. “Hey dude – want $50 big ones? No not bucks, millions. Let’s do it! Boo-yah!”

The high-fiving bro aspect to this also distracted from the actual program being funded. The recipient of Trudeau’s social media largesse is called Education Cannot Wait, which funds schooling for kids in places like war zones and refugee camps.

In a press release the group thanked Trudeau, stating that: “The funding will provide much-needed gender-responsive education for girls living in the midst of crisis, in war zones, in refugees camps, in displacement and in emergency settings.”
What’s curious is it’s not actually an organization itself, but a global fund that doles out collected money to other organizations. Maybe it makes sense to give the group some money. Maybe it doesn’t. After all, we’ve got our own problems right here. But how Trudeau and Co. chose to make the announcement doesn’t allow much room for any sort of serious discussion about it.

Instead, the way Trudeau did it makes it all seem like the big picture international version of when the check-out person at the liquor store hastily asks you just before you’re about to tap your credit card whether or not you’d like to donate $2 to feed the children.
The Liberals haven’t responded well to the unexpected blowback. Trudeau’s right-hand man Gerald Butts, who continues to frustrate Liberal insiders by keeping up his social media vanity, implied that Scheer’s opposition was because this was money going to something involving both women and Nelson Mandela, the implication being that those mean and nasty Conservatives are just being sexist and racist.

Howard Anglin, who worked in the Harper PMO, responded to Butts’ quite appropriately: “Even many who think the cause is worthy were put off by the flippant tone,” Anglin wrote. “And [Butts’] response, at once thin-skinned and oozing moral superiority, ain’t helping.”

As an injured veteran, you would ask for and take just about anything the govt offers. As it stands now the govt offers 1150/m tax free plus an additional 1500/month. In additition to a host of other paymements and support benefits. Trudeau has to appeal to many spectrums of voters. To some his tweet may should flippant, to some he sound cool. Its all subjective. Since you hate him, you will hate anything he says or does.

The province of Alberta is hurting, Oshawa is hurting, veterans have been told there's no money available for them & Canadians are taxed far too much
This idiot has zero concept of financial responsibility (The budget will balance itself), he borrows without regard for the future & spends elsewheres in order to polish his broken international image.
Selecting a leader because he has a famous last name is just plain dumb

We’er Not the idiots, it’s people like yourself who buy into the Trudeau/Butts bullshit. There’s an economic cataclysm happening in energy sector and Trudeau ignores it, there’s another in the auto sector with GM closing and it gets nothing but thoughts and words of concern. There’s massive influx of illegal migrants flooding across our boarders and nothing.
What was it that qualified him to be PM? He has the thinnest resume of any PM in the history of this country and yet the uninformed and stupid still support him.

So, this guy was the biggest idiot as well for providing cash during the biggest recession since the Great Depression:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/ahead-of-knesset-speech-canadas-harper-pledges-66-million-to-pa/

Yet he was the one that made the biggest cuts in financial aids to our veterans.

In other words all PMs have that commitment. These right wingers just go ballistic for anything that Trudeau does. This is clearly TDS as they are the ones who invented it for political means!!

Idiots add billions of stimulus spending during an economic expansion in order to exacerbate inflation and drive up borrowing costs.....sounds like a Trudeau move

Is that all you have to say? You cannot understand that Canada has always given donations to the nations that have dire poverty, be it Liberal or Conservative Governments. I did not hear all you right wingers cursing and swearing at all the previous Governments for doing so, including the Harper Government. So why do you not say the same about Harper as that is what he did. Either typical hypocrisy, or TDS to the fullest extent!!
