Trump Reveals How He Makes Decisions to Chris Wallace: ‘I Don’t Think About Them’

by Aidan McLaughlin | Nov 18th, 2018, 1:42 pm

President Donald Trump offered a peak into his decision making process in his interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday, and there’s really not much to it.

“How, when you’re sitting at the desk, how do you make decisions?” Wallace asked the president in the Oval Office. “I mean, do you agonize over them, do you second guess yourself?”

“I don’t think about them,” Trump replied. “I don’t think about, you know, how I make them. I make what I consider the right decision, I have great people working at the White House, they don’t get enough credit. I have some tremendously talented people and I will talk to them and sometimes I’ll have them go at each other, I do like that, you know let them go at each other. And they do. They’ve very competitive people and at the end I make a decision and it’s certainly – on the economy, a lot of things we’ve been – we’ve made a lot of good decisions and I want to keep it that way.”

When Wallace asked Trump for the toughest decision he has made in office, the president brought up North Korea.

“I think we had real decision as to which way to go on North Korea and certainly at least so far I’m very happy with the way we went,” Trump said.

“Even though there was talk that they putting up new sites?” Wallace asked.

“Maybe they are, maybe they’re not, I don’t believe that, I don’t,” Trump said. “And you know could which is – if that’s the way it goes, that’s the way it goes. You know, I go with the way we have to go but so far it’s been good, we have a very good relationship.”

Hard to understand why the US wastes all that money on multiple intelligence agencies. The PGOTUS does not accept any of their findings.

It seems pretty clear to me that Trump was saying the following:

1. He doesn't just ponder these decisions on his own, or spend time ruminating over his decision making process.

2. His process is to take input from WH staff (who, presumably rely on information from intelligence briefings).

3. He allows staff to voice opposing opinions to one another.

4. He considers the resulting decisions to be a group product.

5. He doesn't second guess them once they're made.

It's all there to be understood, right in the quote you produced. I'd say that only thing your post proves is that YOU don't think about what you read or post.

Bahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!

Many of the feuds and daily clashes have been well documented, but the picture painted by Trump's confidants, senior staff and Cabinet officials reveal that many of them see an even more alarming situation — worse than previously known or understood. Woodward offers a devastating portrait of a dysfunctional Trump White House, detailing how senior aides — both current and former Trump administration officials — grew exasperated with the President and increasingly worried about his erratic behavior, ignorance and penchant for lying. Even John Kelly called Trump an idiot and unhinged. Trump's former personal lawyer John Dowd describes the President as "a fucking liar," telling Trump he would end up in an "orange jump suit" if he testified to special counsel Robert Mueller.

So yes No.3 is correct!!

I guess you aren't aware that Woodward is a journalist, not an expert in organizational psychology. The rest is just gossip and garbage.

You are just getting more and more hilarious by the minute. Accept that what he wrote in his book was from first hand knowledge. So if a journalist publishes what are facts then if you do not agree with it, suddenly it becomes "Organizational Psychology" to You or lack of it!! Well to you it is "gossip and garbage" if it sees your idol in a negative light. Must be your "Organizational Psychology" train of thought!!

Last pass.

Setting aside whether or not the information he gathered for his book is reliable, the question would remain as to whether having some number of disgruntled staff and/or those who strongly disagree with the methods of management, and/or those think that an organization's leaders are stupid/greedy/narcissistic/insane means an organization is "dysfunctional", and whether that is a question that could be meaningfully addressed by someone without an expertise in organizational psychology. What is Woodward comparing that level of dysfunction to - WaPo? Did he consider WaPo dysfunctional as well/ As an illustration of the caveat, if those are the incontrovertible hallmarks of dysfunctional organizations, I wonder if I could name one that wasn't!

I suppose that since we have so many unlicensed psychiatrists/psychologists here on TERB continually diagnosing Trump, I shouldn't be surprised that the point above would also be lost on many TERBites.

I used to think TDS was a joke. Now, I'm not so sure.
