"Justin: Doug, I read that the bulk of the caravan is in Mexico City now and headed for Tijuana next before crossing into San Diego.

Do you find it interesting that the caravan would head for California rather than taking a more direct route into Texas? Supposedly, this is the safest route available.

But I can’t help but wonder if California was chosen because it might be a more welcoming environment. What are your thoughts?"

California is the bluest of all the blue states (home of Berkeley, San Francisco, etc.). However, California has more than its share of problems.
1) Forest fires
2) Soon lack of water
3) Poverty capital of the U.S.
4) Murder capital of the U.S.
5) High taxes
6) Loses more people to other states than it takes in. Maybe that it why it needs illegal migrants to replenish its dwindling population.

If California ever separates it could take in all the migrants to its heart content. It would also lose U.S. government contracts that made the state less poor than it might be.
You sure sound scared of these brown people.

It's not nonsense, they can't vet some of these people because they don't know who they are, claiming they are in danger but can't prove it. If you let them in, more will come it becomes unsustainable at some point, my point of the house analogy is it directly affects you, you can say "yea" let them in because it doesn't affect you. You don't give a shit, they are someone else's problem. If someone was knocking at your door i doubt you'd let them in

Didn't answer the question a deflection to a racist, you think all these people are saints, i believe in immigration our birth rate is too low to sustain the country but i'm not in favour of doing it this way or with refugees , apply legally and i have no problem with anyone becoming a part of our country, you just want to let everyone in regardless of who they are.

The numbers that immigrate this way are generally quite low in this country. Even this 'caravan' is only 500 people.
Its only people really desperate to escape their homes.

If you want to fix it the first thing you should support is foreign policy that helps countries deal with despots, stopping wars and helping making those countries safe enough that people don't want to escape.

Migrants from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador gathered on 12 October to meet at San Pedro Sula, the second largest city in Honduras. The caravan began the next day, intending to reach the United States to flee from violence, poverty, and political repression.[20][21] The caravan began with about 160 migrants but quickly gathered over 500 participants as it marched through Honduras.[22] Bartolo Fuentes, a

I agree there are problems in those countries but you make it seem like all of them are all desperate seeking safety, i'm sure a majority of them are but there are also criminals looking to get in, 34 "migrants" were arrested by Mexico ready to be deported, they weren't arrested for no reason, they have to be vetted properly, they can't just say "we are fleeing violence" without any proof.

What evidence do you have that there are any criminals trying to get in?
Why would a criminal try to hide in one of these caravans as a way to get into the US, it would be the stupidest plan ever?

Someone should warn the illegal migrants not to eat California produced romaine lettuce.

P.S. The "anti-immigrant" U.S. takes in over 1 million legal immigrants this and in recent years. I think that is the most of any country. Also, the vast majority of these legal immigrants are "darker skin" (Chinese, Koreans, Filipinos, East Indians, etc.).

Who said criminals were smart, the jails are filled with them, they can't make it in society because they are stupid so they resoert to crime, 34 were arrested in Tijuana fighting with police, what evidence do you have that none of them are criminals, you don't. My whole point is we don't know who they are they need to be vetted

It would be best for all if they only used legal immigration and refugee venues, I agree.
Claiming that there are criminals among them without any evidence is just scaremongering.

And again, if you have issues you should support dealing with the root causes, not scaremongering about people so desperate as to leave their homes with nothing.

Mexican police arrest for no reason many, many times. They are corrupt and incompetent. So if you are relying on that fact to "prove" that the caravan is packed with criminals, I suggest you try a better argument.

Someone was talking about "brown people" these would be the brown people not the Central Americans. During FY2018, which ended on September 30, Laredo Sector agents apprehended 668 Bangladeshi migrants.

Six Bangladeshis Apprehended in 12 Hours at Texas Border

Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents continue to find illegal immigrants from Bangladesh who cross the border from Mexico. During a 12-hour period beginning on Saturday evening, six Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended in two separate incidents.
Agents assigned to the Laredo South Border Patrol Station came upon a group of four suspected illegal immigrants while patrolling near Masterson Road in Laredo, Texas, on Saturday. The agents conducted interviews as part of Laredo Sector line watch operations. The questioning revealed the four young men were Bangladeshi nationals, according to Laredo Sector Border Patrol officials.

The following morning, Laredo South Station agents carrying out line watch operations came upon another group of two suspected illegal immigrants walking near Oleander Street in Laredo. An interview with the subjects revealed the young men to also be Bangladeshi who were smuggled into the U.S., officials reported.

In an incident on October 29, Laredo South Station agents patrolling along the Rio Grande River rescued a group of Bangladeshi nationals as they attempted to cross the river, Breitbart News reported. Two of the migrants nearly drowned before agents were able to pull them into their boat.

During the month of October, the first month of the new fiscal year, Laredo Sector agents apprehended at least 75 Bangladeshi nationals. This represents an increase of more than 10 percent over October 2017.

During FY2018, which ended on September 30, Laredo Sector agents apprehended 668 Bangladeshi migrants — up nearly 270 percent over the previous year’s total. The sector led the nation in the apprehension of these migrants who paid up to $27,000 each to be moved into the U.S. by cartel-connected human smugglers.

“In Fiscal Year 2018, Laredo Sector Border Patrol experienced an unprecedented increase in the apprehension of nationals from the country of Bangladesh,” Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Felix Chavez told Breitbart News earlier this month. “The almost 300% increase in arrests of Bangladeshi nationals over the previous fiscal year highlights the hard work and vigilance of the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol. We will continue to work with our federal and international partners to share information to stop the flow of those who seek to unlawfully circumvent our nation’s immigration policies.”

Hundreds of miles of open river border in South and Central Texas make the area a prime human smuggling corridor for Mexican cartels.

So you have proof none of them are criminals or gang members, show me your proof, you can't because you don't have any

Again, dodging the question, you are the fool, just because i've only been here for 2 months doesn't matter, you never answer a question when confronted, you always insult instead, a child inside a man's body

I thought the Western Justice system required GUILT to be proven, not innocence.
Correct me if i'm wrong but when you are trying to immigrate to a country, you are trying to prove you are worthy or can be a contributing member to the society, A criminal might try to blend in with a crowd to try and get in, guilt or innocence has nothing to do with it, unless they enter illegally, then they are already committing a crime according to the U.S. criminal code
