Michael Avenatti arrested following allegations of domestic violence

WASHINGTON (AP) — A law enforcement official says Michael Avenatti is in police custody in Los Angeles following an allegation of domestic violence.

The official says Avenatti was taken into custody Wednesday. Police had responded to a domestic violence incident a day earlier and took a report.

The official wasn’t authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Avenatti remained in custody Wednesday evening and a call and text message seeking comment weren’t immediately returned.

Avenatti is best known as the lawyer for porn actress Stormy Daniels, who has said she had sex with President Donald Trump in 2006. Trump has denied having an affair.

Avenatti is also mulling a 2020 presidential run.

In a week which featured TERB righties being humiliated in one of the largest election losses in recent history, I am glad to see they have all found something to be happy about. Enjoy.

The Republicans have tons of Whitehouse staff that have been either / or indicted, charged , convicted or and jailed. Finally, they have found someone who has been charged but will be released probably with a fine and asked to keep away from that lady. But guys like Manafort, have a very long jail sentence. No doubt he is ta criminal. Well the POTUS has got away with it so far, but he will be charged sooner or later for all all his sexual assaults, groping, attempted rape attempts that will come to haunt him one day. Yes, finally the Right Wingers ave something to cheer about.

One of the largest election losses - really? They gained seats in the Senate FFS.

Wonder what Avenatti's defense is going to be - that he was set up by Republican lawmakers? This dude is some piece of work.

Obviously you do not understand what a 9%+ popular votes that the Democrats won means in this context, and hence why it translated to a 30 seat majority in the House of Representatives. Maybe you are the one living on another planet!!

Popular vote differential is irrelevant. Ask Hillary. Looks like the R's will lose 37 seats in the House and gain 2 seats in the Senate. To put into perspective in 2010 (Obama's 1st mid term) the Dems lost 63 seats in the House and 6 in the Senate. In 1994 (Clinton's first mid term) the Dems lost 54 seats in the House and 8 in the Senate.

So tell me again how bad a loss this was relatively speaking?

This is a much bigger popular vote than that of 2016, and that is why it translated to a big majority for the Democrats this time round.

You have to remember that the Democrats won the Senate and The House of Reps. very handily under Bush Junior. So that is why they lost by that margin as the economy was still in a deep recession in 2010. But Obama still retained the Senate in his first term, although he lost the House. No different from this midterm elections. But the Senate depends on the Demographics of those constituencies. Although they were occupied by the Democrats, they were in deep rural areas that favoured Trump in 2016. So no wonder he picked up 2 seats but all the same he still lost 1 Seat in a Deep Red State of Arizona.

Why is Trump so miserable now. It seems like gloom and doom to him, as he has not attended various ceremonies since he returned from his disastrous trip to France!!

He didn't lose the seat in Arizona the candidate McSally did. She tried to distance herself from the Trump agenda and it cost her. It should also be noted that the Un Democrat Sinema will likely vote with the Republicans much like she did in the House. She's one of the few moderate Un Democrats left in the party.

No way Sinema is going to vote with the Repugnantlicans when there are important issues that needs to be addressed. She would not have voted for someone like Kavanaugh's nomination.

It was originally alleged as per TMZ that it was his ex-wife. However, TMZ withdrew that statement and have now stated that it was a "woman". Avenatti's ex-wife confirmed with CNN that she has not seen him in months and that allegation was not from her. Obviously, it is some random woman who made that allegation. Avenatti stated that he will be exonerated, and both his ex-wives confirmed that Avenatti has not and would not lay a hand on a woman. He has been released by the Police on a $50,000 bail.
