If we're cutting to the chase for real, then let me put on the table that i think you're a childish a-hole for resorting to an accusation of racism simply because someone thinks you are out to lunch on immigration/refugee policy. I also think you might drink a little too much, because you appear to lack any reasonable amount of impulse control. And goodness only knows what other nastiness you've been up to in your life for your guilt to manifest itself in such a fervent display of perpetual virtue signalling. I also seriously doubt your claim to be a practicing lawyer given your lack of impulse control, ethical elasticity, incorrect statements of law, and foolhardy disclosure of your profession, areas of practice, as well as the alleged details of some of your cases.

So, we can continue to exchange about how little we think of one another, or you can start sticking to the issues being debated.

Did I touch a nerve there, Bud?

Sure, Bud. I'll kick in an extra dollar for you, so you don't have to pay for all those dying black and brown kids.... if paying that extra dollar means that much to you. I'll even make it TWO dollars and pay for Butler as well.

Let's cut the dog whistle and say that you single out the refugee program to whine about because you hate blacks and browns. You'll never admit this. But you have written how much you hate that 30 seconds at your Bills home games when those Black players take a knee during the anthem. The "budget deficit" argument is just your nasty little wedge into the topic, so you can take a swipe at all those awful Haitians and Nigerians who are going to mess up your nice white heritage country.
I've actually advocated for more refugees. So long as they are properly vetted and come under the private adoption criteria. Even advocated for tax credits for those who step up.

I would also advocate a tax credit to businesses, also properly vetted, to recieved a tax credit for a limited time for hiring a refugee to give them Canadian employment experience.

What I don't want to see is wholesale warehousing and neglect of refugees before washing of hands and shoving them into the welfare system. Which is exactly what Trudeau is doing now.

The former equals success with integration and self sufficiency. The other a few generations of poverty.

Only if you assume all refugees are unassimilable. In fact, many are extremely adept and adaptive and do quite well. I suggest "a few generations of poverty" is just something in your head.

The problem with the private vetting argument is that the charter is designed to provide for refugees to show up and make an in situ claim. The private sponsorship route would never deal with all the refugee claimants or the # of actual refugees accepted by the system.

So gays and political dissidents have genuine refugee claims in your opinion. Also folks like Asia Bibi who are persecuted for their religious beliefs.

How about ethnic minorities, like the Kurds in Iraq?

I think when they drew the lines after WWII it caused alot of issues in the ME and that was one of them.

Kurds deserve their own land to call home. Iraq is really three distinct ethnic/ religious groups and it should be divided as such.

Let the smaller nations grow or stay small on their own. Not by what the oil companies want. Alot of these refugee issues could be resolved by the creation of smaller nations.

For context. There are 14,000 undocumented immigrant unaccompanied minors in US custody, an all time high.
