I want to switch from Rogers Internet to Tech Savvy. Has anyone have problems from switching over other than 1 or 2 days without internet? First I would call and cancel with Rogers. Then call up tech savvy to oder. Did you experience any problems from tech savvy because they use Rogers infrastructure? Is it easy to setup with tech savvy? Does a technician need to come in? Rogers has just become too expensive and Tech Savvy seems to be the only alternative.

Do not cancel Rogers until TekSavvy makes the transfer. If you cancel first then TekSavvy cannont seamlessly transfer you.
Especially true if you are also switching Home Phone Service and trying to keep the same number.
Better to let services overlap for a day or 2, and then cancel Rogers.
That way you are not without service.

As t your other questions.
No problems yet as far as infrastructure goes.
Set up was easy enough.
No Technician needs to come in if you do the transfer properly. TekSavvy will do all the work of communicating with Rogers to switch over. Need to get the modem from TekSavvy first which takes about a week.

I switched to TS from Bell a year ago. TS handled everything including cancelling my service with Bell and arranging a dry loop for my DSL service. Company is easy to deal with, download speeds have been as promised, service has been reliable. Should have made the switch years ago.

I've used teksavvy and found their prices and services better than rogers at the time.

I currently am with acanac. I switched to them because you had to if you wanted to try zazen which was a internet tv provider. Right now I pay 50 plus hst for 11 months ( get one month free) for 75 mps and unlimited bandwidth. By paying a lump sum you get one free month.

Fido has a promo $32.50/month for 75mbps. Anyone use Fido internet?
I used Fido internet for a couple years, didn't have any problems at all and the price was good for me at the time. I've since moved to another provider where I also get a Static IP, but if I didn't need that then I'd probably still be with Fido for my internet

So I switched to Fido from Rogers. Fido special promotion $32.50 per month for 1 year, 75 mbps dl and 10 mbps ul. Then price goes up to $65 per month. Still way cheaper than rogers. My Rogers promotion price end this month and the price goes up to $108 per month, this is for 150 mbps, but I don't need that much speed. Called Rogers to cancel, had to deal with pushy sales person offering me deals, bundle deals, etc before they transfered me to accounting and cancellation department. Had to return the modem to a local Rogers store. A hassle but in the end the savings is worth the effort.
