If Trump and the GOP had made a decent effort to improve and replace O-care, no one wold have a problem with it. The issue is that the GOP was all about doing away with government funded health care because "it's socialist" and many of them are in the pocket of the health care industry and the insurance industry. Government funded health care works just fine in every other western country and costs a fraction of what it does in the US where the health care and insurance industries fatten on it.

If you scam the American people with this sort of double talk and then pull the same stunt with "tax reform", you pay at the polls.

Most of the population of those states are the same as anywhere else - hard working guys and women who want to do okay for themselves. What do you think they are - all latte-sipping fashion designers who chat about gender reassignment surgery 24/7?!

The problem for the GOP is that its current rhetoric is so geared to white identity politics that it's being increasingly shut out in the cities, with women and with Blacks and Hispanics. So take a heavily urban and Hispanic or Black state like CA or IL and the GOP has painted itself completely out of serious contention there.

If you actually read the posts of some of the board's better educated right-identifying posters - like Promo or Essguy - they're saying "Stop with the populism and identity politics and give us competent right of centre leadership and we'll return to the party!" But it's not going to happen because the easy pickings at primaries and conventions is the far right block factions who will ALWAYS vote for a Trump and never vote for a Kasich.
