From my experience, you kind of go along for the ride and let things unfold as they may.
As for value for $$, of course that's a relative thing.
I would say that I enjoyed the experience and it made for memorable moments. The cash outlay was secondary.
I look back fondly on each of my experiences and I remember more about those times than counting out the bucks.
For me, it was a bucket list thing.

I liked the company and my first experience was sensory overload. Kid in a candy store thing.
In reality, I didn't know what to expect or how to make the most of our time. Your partners may be able to take the lead there.
You might want to think about what you want out of the experience.
I don't think watching porn movies will educate you much, but hey they may give you some ideas (maybe?).

My only recent experience with duos were with asians. Big surprise, I know. Keep in mind if you are into asians it will likely be non-interactive, all the focus on you. I had one duo experience over a year ago.
