Although it is a very hypothetical question and nobody could possible know for sure, I have the correct answer.

Maybe. Anything is possible.

Remember what happened to Gretzsky?
Those were different times. He was sold by Pocklinton for 15 million profit and to help the league grow the game in LA. If Pitt is smart they should definitely trade Crosby but not for the same reason as Gretz. Always trade when the return will help more than it'll hurt. Not this year but when Pitts needs to do a rebuild he should go. I would compare it more to the Sundin situation. Not Gretz.

I see a scenario when Sid is in his mid to late 30's and the Pens are not making playoffs they become sellers and a contending team gets Sid as a rent a player for a playoff run, only for Sid to return to the Pens the next season.

...as player-coach and GM.

His career is mirroring yzermans, he doesn't have to chase rings like Bourque did. Maybe he hooks up with mcjesus though at some point.

Funny because I was thinking of modern day athletes who have spent their entire career with one team, and the most recent one that comes to mind is Kobe Bryant, but I was thinking Crosby and Ovey have a chance too.

I totally agree with your "correct answer" seeing the way sports are influenced mainly by business decisions these days!

Will he? Who knows. Should he? At some point of course he should. Everyone should. No one is of use forever. That includes your wife when she trades you in for a better one.

Has he officially retired?

Tim Duncan and David Robertson as well.

How the hell neither one of us mentioned Derek Jeter is beyond me.
Who is David Robertson?

Meh, I've never been a huge fan of Jeter.

Some of those guys I wouldn't consider modern day. Terry Bradshaw....Mike Bossy...those guys are from the 70's-early 80's.

Well if you want to start from the 90's then it is a very small window of time. It would basically be guys who retired within the last 20 years.

Anyways, that was a FYI. Use it as you desire. BTW, Bossy retired in '87.
