Good comparison as rookies. One thing that made Henry so great was that he was able to maintain a consistent level of performance year in and year out for a long time. The question is can Vlady? (Not that I'm expecting him to play 23 years.)

A couple of more stats:

Henry Aaron: 6'0". 180 lbs
Vlady Jr.: 6'1 1/2", 248 lbs.

IMO, if Vlady cannot get in better shape, it could have a significant impact on his longer term performance in the field and on the bases and also possibly make him more susceptible to injuries. Right now he's got the talent and can carry the 250lbs as a 20 year old. It may be tougher to carry that weight as he passes 25 and gets into his later 20's. We shall keep our fingers crossed and see.

"Guerrero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-3 victory over the Yankees on Friday.

This was Guerrero's fourth straight game with multiple hits. That's been great, but this was also his first home run since Aug. 22. Owners would like to see a little more pop from Guerrero over the last week, as he owns just a .443 slugging percentage. He is batting .276 with 15 home runs, 68 RBI and 51 runs in 442 at-bats this season."

Question: Does he have 15 or 16 HR's?

Vlad did not hit a HR on Friday.

Vlady needs a running program in the off season. He's heavy set and doesn't need to do that much weight training. Hitting 91 hrs in the Derby sort of gassed him.

The air conditioning is on max at the Rogers Center tonight, the ball is flying out, 7 homers so far.

...and like Curly Howard, I'm chilled to the bone...lots of batters bending the chisel.

For a while it looked like he would hit 20 HR's. Now it looks like he will finish with 15 and none in September.

Home runs‎: ‎15
Batting average‎: ‎.276

Junior hasn't hit a home run in the last 30 games. He's only 20 so time to hit many more in the future.

I think he sort of checked out the last little while. Playing meaningless baseball for so long, small crowds when at home....

Like a guy with a rep for patience and good eye, he was swinging at some bad shit the last month. He also might be a bit tired.
