If Chris Sale and David price have years like this for the rest of their contracts, that's a tone of money down the tubes. He also made some other bad signings like Steve Pearce and such, and there farm system is weak.

Very different situation. But aside from the WS, I think I heard that they'd also won the division 4 years in a row. As per the bolded areas, and that they are no longer a playoff worthy team, maybe they are in line for a teardown and rebuild from the farm system up.
