Jays have potentially two 30/90 guys in Smoak and Tellez this season
I think neither will come close to 30/90. Smoak will likely be traded by the July 31 deadline. Tellez is interesting. His 1st season in AAA he had a total of 6 HR. Last year was better showing off 14 dingers in AAA and 4 more in a September MLB call up. He may develop 30 HR power but I think 25/75 is more likely at best.

Not sure why they would deal Smoak, as he is a bargain at his current contract and is still young.

The dudes they were dumping were the 35+ years multi million $$ guys.

my guess is Smoak is available as is pretty much every experienced player on the roster. They dumped Pillar for not much and that will continue. Once the deadline gets close there will be a fire sale.

He's 32, 33 before the start of next season.
He's blocking Tellez.

So do you guys think Vlad will start, or will CM give him a late inning pinch hit to get his feet wet??

You are correct. Having said that, they're saying he's a close as it gets to be a sure thing in baseball. (As we all know, baseball top prospects flop much more then other sports)

Not only do you have to hope he doesn't flop, but stay healthy.

Born in Montreal, that makes Vladdy an automatic Canadian citizen - if he wants it. I hope Charlie doesn't use him as a DH, that would send a wrong message. He'll have to do without Brandon Drury thunder to get the young man adjusted.

Will Katie Nolan derail Jay and Dan again? Fox's new assignment was to have her prop the two greedy Canadians up, it wasn't a good fit. Then she got into a feud with Sean Hannity, she's been known to speak her mind, and had to sit out the remainder of her contract. She spoke out in defense of her friend Gretchen Carlson, Fox sided with the fudge packer. TSN has to start carrying Always Late (have they), enough with Jay and Dan.

Born in Montreal,
I would be surprised if he doesn't actually speak English and/or French. I think once he is established he will speak English to get all the Nike endorsements.

The second coming

The son also rises

No pressure at all, eh.

Is he categorically a Canadian citizen?

He showed up at the Roger's Centre wearing his father's Expos jersey. Watched batting practice on Tim and Sid...did he just break the scoreboard?

Yes he is. He has dual CAN/DR citizenship.

But he apparently he identifies more as a Dominican, since thats who he plays for internationally
