As long as payroll is decreased, shapeero will cream his pants, regardless of the win/loss record.
That is not nice! True but just not nice to say or think so negatively.

If they trade Moreorless this year, he should have a higher value than last, as, he had a better year and this is the final year of the contract. He should have some value as a switch hitter, the problem is he is very limited defensively!

Unfortunately, the absolute only thing he has shown consistently since he's been here is his ability to always be going on the cheap.

I think it would have been outstanding if Shapero had spent money on pitching market last year. Oh wait it was a total disaster.

This isn’t a thumbs up for Shapiro, but the tram is where it’s at because it could not produce a single position player of value for over a half dozen years under Aa, and they were left with a horrible veteran lineup.

...that came within 2 wins of the World Series. A horrible lineup indeed.

Yes, but there was a small window on that team due to age - 2, maybe 3 years at the most, unless they re-tooled. Unfortunately some of the large contracts they inherited killed their budget and they could not dip into free agency. Remember that the payroll for the past few years has been consistently in the top ten of all of baseball. They are not cheap, they just don't know how to get the best value for their buck.

I'd say they were not cheap with AA. And it probably was not a coincidence that he got us a big bang for our buck. The city was electric.

Things are somewhat different under shapeero.

Those remaining huge contracts for Tulo and Russell are going to severely limit the Jays ability to get top line stars in 2019. 2020 and 2021 will be a different matter.

Still lots to look forward to in 2019, not least Guerrero (spelling?) junior. Let's hope some of the young pitchers can continue to develop. Will be interesting to see if Pearson can also come through.

Soooooo if the current management is not cheap, and they don't know how to get best value for their dollar, would incompetent describe them correctly?

If he's hitting behind Jr next year, Smoak should bump up his stats.

2019, the Plakata Era begins!
