Spinach, shrimp and cheese?Sad day for good eats in downtown west end. Places are closing all the time but this one stings a little. Been going there for over 20 years. No more house special number two

Never was the same after the restaurant makeover.

Yes, this is the case. (And I agree that makeover was weird, but the roti stayed true)
Great memories of this place in the 90’s when I was dating a chick in Parkdale. It was the first place I ever had roti and thus was a gateway into even better rotis across the city.

That is a better reason the business issues. It is sad when a neighbourhood staple is gone but happy for a person who closes up on their terms.
I tried this place once but it was unlike the fare from places like Drupati's or even Ali's down the street and so not to my liking.
I think the roti wrap was soggy so I disposed of it.
The filling was decent though and I might have ate it with a substitute bread.

There is a hole in the wall roti place at bloor/Lansdowne called Vena’s. Their goat roti is friggen amazing.

Brings a tear to my eye. I would go there for a late breakfast in my Springhurst Daze. Those were the days when we would stuff 24 beers in our parkas to watch a game at Exhibition Stadium in April.

I was laughing above because they're black Jamaicans and everyone knows you hate Blacks and called Canada-man (which is Black Jamaican) a coon ... :fish:
Bacchus is not a Jamaican name, and Jamaicans are not known for their Roti though they cook it. Sounds like you cannot tell the difference between your West Indians/Caribbean people. I never said I hated Jamaicans btw.
I've never been there before, but if they really are Jamaican I'd have to take someone else's word for it.
People like Canada-man are not liked in the black community.
