MBS for whatever reason is hardlining his power. The king is effectively incapacitated so I assume he is consolidating power.

But this was so f'n egregious the world has to react.
The Russian assassination attempt on Sergei Skripal was pretty egregious too.

It seems like the Russians and Saudis want to deny what they did but simultaneously want everyone to know exactly what they did as a warning to others.

They know that trump will be soft on them so they are sending their opponents a message. Something outrageous like this needs to be condemned:

Saudi arms deal will bring a MILLION jobs to the U.S. says Trump as he inflates benefits of sales in the teeth of mounting calls from his own senators to call it off:

President Donald Trump has been upping the number of jobs he claims the Saudi purchase of American weapons will bring to the United States
His inflated figures come as some members of his own party are calling for a halt to the sales in the wake of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi
The U.S. has proposed an $110 billion sale of U.S. weapons to the Kingdom
When the deal was first announced, Trump said it would bring 40,000 jobs
On Monday the president said the deal would bring 1 million jobs to the U.S.

What blatant lies and the whole world are aware that he will stand behind Saudi Arabia.... no matter what:

Wrong. No Presidents have blatantly lied to this extent. Start with 40,000 jobs, and suddenly that figure is inflated to 1 million jobs and the dollar figure has suddenly skyrocketed. Do you not ask yourself about what you are trying to defend although the person in question is not BERNIE SANDERS!!

Nothing will change, you boycott the Saudis they'll boycott back, they'll buy their weapons from the Chinese or Russia and fuck around with oil. This is why Germany only suspended their weapon deal with the Saudis instead of cutting it. They know Saudis can buy Chinese goods. Its a hypocritical game.

Which has nothing to do with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is a human rights abuser which has always killed critics. And every president has looked the other way for oil, basing rights, and arms deals.

The only difference is this one was botched. It certainly isn't a defense. It's acknowledgement that it's a systemic problem with multiple US govt's, not a Trump one.

Trump's whole jobs numbers were based on the weapons that Saudi Arabia were purchasing from the USA. He should be more savvy in doing his homework as far as the actual $ amounts purchased and the corresponding jobs created. When you first mention 40,000 jobs were being created, and then keep on inflating that number to the tune of more than 1 million jobs, then it transgresses to fiction.

Tell us how many jobs were created from this errrrr.... $14 billion deal. 40,000 or over 1 million, which figure??
