They lost me as a fan in the 90’s after the 93 playoffs. I realized then that playoff was an anomaly and that the MLSE head office will never put the money or talent into the team to go to the Stanley cup. Been over 50 yrs now, they ain’t ever going to the Cup.

If you want to avoid going to the States, you can always go to Montreal or Ottawa. You'll get a bigger break on ticket prices in Ottawa (not so much when the Leafs are there though). And a day or two in Ottawa can be enjoyable, though I wouldn't want to spend much more than that there - it is a pretty boring town, but the culture is good. In Montreal, you've got amazing nightlife and really, really fucking hot chicks.
