Never. As long as you don't do anything stupid like car services or try and pick up streetwalkers you'll be fine.

Totally agree. An Asian outfit on Somerset/Bronson was busted about 3 days after I visited back a couple of years ago.

OP was not talking about immigration raids, but specifically a "police sting". This means an operation where a police officer "pretends" to be a provider for the purpose of arresting a potential client for solicitation. As I said this does not happen anymore.

It happened in the Durham region a few months ago. Police set up a sting with underage providers. http://www.durhamradionews.com/archives/111692
Another in Peterborough just a few weeks ago, view the Peterborough forum here on terb to find more details...

Stay safe.

Ya but those guys are caught for seeking underage girls. So if you aren't a pedophile, you wouldn't be caught, all according to that article you posted.

Hopefully they got caught, if they're picking up underage providers. Ditto for people seeing victims of sex trafficking.

Holy shit. If one suspects something, what does the law require an undercover police officer to do if one asks "are you working for law enforcement?". MUST they answer truthfully, or should I say.... they break the law and falsely answer?
I had always understood this to be an urban myth. From what I've understood, police are allowed to lie to perform undercover duties (so long as they don't stray into the realm of entrapment).

Here's a Snopes link that talks about it.

Of course they will lie.
They don't have to blow their cover just because you ask politely :fish:
