“A Canadian is a Canadian.” — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The Groper and Libtards would want all these guys back.

And some Canadians would be quite fine with blowing this lot of us to smithereens.
At least a dozen Canadians have been captured fighting for ISIS in Syria and Iraq and the government seems inclined to rehabilitate them. More than 190 are guesstimated to have gone abroad to fight or offer comfort.

Others are still on the run desperately trying to flee the crumbling caliphate and the ranks of “Number two, but trying harder” Al Qaeda.
Here are this country’s most wanted terrorists. Some are believed to be already dead.

Actually the facts are quite different and I've posted actual news articles in other threads. You've even posted in those threads.

The Kurds are holding ISIS affiliated Canadians and Canada is not completing the paperwork to bring them back. Trudeau doesn't want to bring them back. The Libs are making no move to bring them back. That's why the Sun isn't running news and op ed items saying "The ISIS terrorists are back." That's because the Liberals and Justin aren't bringing them back. Why would they?

A Sun editorial blasting Trudeau and blaming him for everything under the sun gets published a few times a week. The Sun is a propaganda rag for the CPC / OPC. They love to suggest that Trudeau is somehow friendly to terrorists. There's no proof of this, but you guys post content-less Sun op eds all the time.

Find something better to do. These op eds are nonsense.

LOL You'll support terrorists even when you have their pictures in front of your nose

Trudeau changed the law that Harper had in place to stop these killers coming back in the country. Its called C-6 I already posted about this in that thread. Duh...

"Bill C-6 was designed to repeal many of the previous Conservative government's changes to how people become citizens — and how they can lose that status.
Among other things, the legislation repeals a provision that strips dual citizens of their Canadian status if convicted of terrorism, treason or espionage."

You simply insulted me and didn't respond to anything I said in my post. And no, I don't support terrorists. I simply said that Trudeau is avoiding bringing them back from the Middle East. How is that me "supporting terrorist"?

Harper's bill was clearly unconstitutional. It wouldn't have lasted 3 months before the Courts. Like a lot of what Harper did. Trudeau just avoided the inevitable courtroom disaster by repealing the law.

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer blasted Justin Trudeau’s government over its handling of alleged Canadian members of the so-called Islamic State who are currently being held in Syria and are asking to return home. Speaking in the House of Commons, Scheer said the Liberals have failed to take meaningful action to bring alleged ISIS fighters to justice who have “committed atrocities.” The opposition leader cited reporting by Global News that revealed at least 13 Canadian detainees are being held in northeast Syria, including Muhammad Ali who claimed to be an ISIS sniper.

“If the prime minister has failed to hold those who have returned home from fighting with ISIS responsible already, why is he reaching out to try and bring more home?”

Border Security Minister Bill Blair said that Canadian law enforcement agencies work with its international partners to ensure that “evidence is gathered for individuals who committed serious crimes [and] they will face the full consequences of the law in Canada.”

“In the 10 years of the previous government, they failed to take any action against any [member] who committed a terrorist act in a foreign land,” Blair said. “Since coming into government, we have now incarcerated four individuals. We have complete confidence in the RCMP and national security officials to keep the country safe.”

The tense exchange followed an ongoing debate about what the government should do with alleged Canadian ISIS members and their families who are currently being held in camps in northern Syria. Almost 900 foreign ISIS fighters, as well as over 500 wives and more than 1,200 children, from almost dozens of different countries, want governments to take back their citizens.

The Trudeau government has said little on what it will do with alleged Canadian ISIS fighters. Last year, the Liberals repealed changes made by the Harper government to the immigration act that would strip dual citizens of their Canadian status if convicted of terrorism, treason or espionage.

Canadians Kevin Omar Mohamed, Ismael Habib, Pamir Hakimzadeh and Rehab Dugmosh have been convicted or charged with attempting to join a terrorist entity.

“With respect to the foreign fighters, I think we need to remember why they are where they are right now,” Global Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland told reporters on Monday.

Tory immigration critic Michelle Rempel said it was “unacceptable” that Ottawa hasn’t taken a stronger stance and outlined a plan to bring those responsible for ISIS atrocities to justice.

“The hallmark of this government is a lot of pleasantries and not a lot of action. That is unacceptable to put it mildly in this situation,” Rempel told Global News. “ISIS has committed genocide. We know who those people are either by self-confession or direct evidence.”

On Monday, Global News revealed portions of an hour-long online exchange between a Canadian consular official and Jack Letts, a British 22-year-old with Canadian citizenship who is imprisoned by Kurdish forces in Syria.

The transcript between Letts, also known in the British media as “Jihadi Jack,” and Global Affairs offer a rare look into how Ottawa is dealing with Canadians who are currently being held by Kurdish forces in northern Syria.

“If it would be possible, would you like to come to Canada? Back to the U.K.?” the consular official asked in a January conversation.

“I want to live a normal life. I want to come to Canada,” Letts replied.

“I made a mistake coming here, I know that. If you want to put me in prison, I understand that, I do not mind,” Letts said. “I have made mistakes, probably prison is good for me. But just not here. The situation here is terrible.”

Letts travelled to Syria in 2014 but has denied being an ISIS member and his parents said there was no evidence he ever joined the terrorist group. Because the U.K. has shown no interest in assisting him and he is Canadian through his father, Ottawa has taken on the case.

Documents shared with Global News also reveal Canadian officials have been in contact with the Kurdish authorities over concerns about torture allegations and medical attention for the detainees.

A Kurdish official told Global News there had been “dialogue” with Canada over the detainees, including a meeting in Iraq, but that “suddenly the Canadian government stopped this process and we don’t know why.”

Global Affairs Canada has said it was aware that Canadians were detained in Syria but its “ability to provide consular assistance in any part of Syria is extremely limited.”

“Canadian diplomats have established a communications channel with local Kurdish authorities in order to verify the whereabouts and well-being of Canadian citizens,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “Reports of an agreement concerning the repatriation of Canadian citizens from Syria are false.

NDP public safety critic Matthew Dubé told Global News that while public safety is paramount, Canada was obliged to take responsibility for its citizens and urged Ottawa to bring back Canadian wives of ISIS fighters and their children.

“It doesn’t sound like that’s the case at the moment, but I would hope that they would make every effort to bring the women and children back,” he said.

“As much as we may loathe what these people stand for and what they’re doing in some cases, I think that putting them into prisons here and having them go through the Canadian justice system is obviously at the core of a society that’s rules-based and respects the rule of law.”

Note: Harper didn't prosecute a single terrorist during the entire time he was prime minister. Trudeau has successfully convicted four.

The Liberals are gathering evidence against ISIS members, including confessions.

Harper did a much better job on this issue, there is a video of Harper and Trudeau debating and Harper said to the moderator: Trudeau will let thousands of migrants in and Trudeau denied it. Harper was right.

Familiar ground. This is where I always say - But Harper let the same refugee claimants in, just like Mulroney and Chretien and everyone else.

You keep pushing this nonsense that Trudeau somehow is doing stuff no other PM has done. But ALL PM's have allowed refugee claimants to enter Canada. This is mandated by the UN Convention on Refugees which Canada signed - along with ALL other Western countries - in 1949.

If you're going to lie about Trudeau, at least come up with new lies. The "refugees slaughter goats in the shower" wasn't a good lie. But at least it was a new lie.

You guys hate Trudeau. And you hate immigrants. So you just can't stay away from combining the two pet hates in nonsense posts like the one you just did.

100% Harper did a better job on this issue. The Groper's agenda is open doors and let anyone in. There was a post in the last month that showed Canadian Government sent back almost none of illegal migrants that walked in thru the border.

Facts?....

The links show that Harper allowed ISIS returnees and his cabinet whined that it was "too difficult to screen them". Sad.

You (or conil, or both of you) posted that story 2 or 3 times. It purported to show that only a small % of refugee claimants who had arrived in the target period of about 1 year had been rejected and sent back to their home countries within that same 1 year period. It turned out that processing time from arrival to deportation is a little more than 1 year for refugee claimants and therefore, it was unfeasible to deport more than a small % of the arrivees in the target period, simply due to the time requirements of processing. It did NOT prove that Trudeau was keeping all the arrivees or not processing their claims. In fact, acceptance of refugee claimants is consistent with % figures under Harper. It simply meant the process could not be completed within the target period of 1 year.

Essentially, this was a specious and deliberately misleading article designed to whip up anti Trudeau and anti refugee feeling and without any validity whatsoever.

Why do you bring up the same points again and again and again when I have already refuted those points? Go find new anti Muslim nonsense to post and at least give me a new challenge....

Ontario MPP Dave Smith is planning to table a bill next week to strip returning terrorists of their driver's license and access to health care. This will piss off Justin "A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian" Trudeau and our liberal courts will probably rule that this is a gross violation of a returning terrorist's Charter rights.

All things considered, these guys are less likely to be a problem for Canadians here, than official agents of the Royal Saudi Government, who everyone claims are on our side.
