No kidding. If cops had seen someone rolling through a guarded intersection like that, they would have shot the driver. And rightfully so in this case.

Why did the cop get physical? The old geezer doesn't look like the type to run for it, FFS.

CTV news this morning had a video of the officer "interacting" with Hameed. Considering Hameed was 70 years old, the officer was fairly rough and aggressive, but stayed calm.

If the reports are correct, the police officer slowly drove through the crosswalk while Hameed had the sign held up and kids were still in the intersection (apparently on the other half). Hameed hit his car on the way through. Interesting that the police didn't interview the witnesses at the time at the scene.

Generally I'm a police supporter (half my family are cops), but this looks pathetic. Phone cameras are a cops worse enemy.

I'm also a supporter of cops, as I do work with them on occasion, but from what I've read so far , this particular cop was on a power trip, totally pathetic.

The cop was a passenger in the car that wouldn't stop.

With the limited information available, it looks like the cop was on a power trip and is probably sleeping with the driver of the car so couldn't see straight.

They're called pigs for a reason.

1) Was the Constable on duty 2) if so was he on a call 3) did they have lights and/or a siren activated?

If the answer to the above is no, then there should be discipline forthcoming.

Was the Toronto Constable out of his jurisdiction if he was in the YRM, or is that not the way it works in Ontario? Further who employs the school crossing guards in Markham, are they auxiliaries to the York Regional Police?

The York poice also abused this old man ( cuffed him without questioning, refused him water which brought about loss of consciousness related to diabetes perhaps ), no doubt based on the unquestioning brotherhood of a fellow cop ......pathetic.

The driver of the SUV should have been ticketed for breaking the new crosswalk law since they tried to move through the intersection before all the kids had completely crossed the street.

Power trip. Happens all the time only reason you hear about this incident is because it got caught on camera.

I think the key here is the crossing guard tap the cop's car with his sign lightly, or did he slam it against his car.

Because if its the latter I too might have gotten out of my car

Do you tell you them you're a lawbreaker when you visit SP's, or do you tell them you just go to strip clubs and only read Terb for the articles??

I have little trust in the police. The days of "to serve and protect" are fading and there are too many cops that are corrupt or on power trips. I have had three run ins with the police (having done literally nothing) and in all instances the police went on crazy power trips threatening me wth violence and arrest. Thank god there were witnesses.
