Dems shoot themselves in the foot again....

Poll: Trump, GOP Get A Big Kavanaugh Bounce

The latest IBD/TIPP poll finds that President Donald Trump’s approval ratings made a strong rebound this month, with a four-point gain to 40%, reversing almost the entire loss he suffered the month before. His disapproval rating when from 56% last month to 54% now.

What’s more, the Democrats’ advantage on the generic ballot question plunged from 11 points last month to just 2 points this month.

“The Kavanaugh hearings galvanized Republicans who saw the proceedings as a ploy by the Democrats to slow the nomination process,” said Raghavan Mayur, President of TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence, which conducts the IBD/TIPP Poll. “What’s more, many Republicans thought that Kavanaugh’s reputation was being maligned by the Democratic Senators.”

Almost certainly a Republican Senatorial pick-up in North Dakota.
I think the Republicans will pick up a few Senate seats. North Dakota. Florida. Missouri. Possibly Montana, Indiana and WV. They will likely lose Nevada and possibly Arizona. I do think they keep Corker's Tennessee seat in a close race.

Keep thinking things are going fine for the midterms.
And spread it around, we don't want Trumpkins to get worried enough to vote.

The Dems have stirred the hornets nest.....
… and the boys and old men of The Party are finding their way into the trenches for the Last Battle.

How wisely — dare I say, 'how judiciously'? — you folks down there choose the Nine Sages who will determine the foundations of your laws for ages to come!

The belligerent enthusiasm of DonnyBrookers has never been in doubt, Bannon's movie makes that clear.

What's also clear is how few new converts there are among what is stubbornly still a minority. So it'll probably come down to which side can get the hottest hotheads to come out in November, and that's no prescription for peace in the streets or a vote that the rest of the people can trust.

"So it may take liberals by surprise to hear that a recent Reuters/Ipsos mega poll of 16,000 respondents, found that the Democrats are losing ground with millennials. While millennials still prefer the Democratic party over the Republicans, that support is tanking. In just two years, it dropped sharply from 55% to 46%. Meanwhile, their support for Republicans has remained roughly stable in the past two years, falling from 28% to 27%."

The above poll was pre-Kavangaugh. Not sure what a new poll will show.

Yup, interesting question for certain.

From a marketing perspective the Democrats have chosen a difficult strategy to win on. It is less practical than aspirational, the net impact of which is that it's tough to show progress.

This only works well when you have a single unifying voice which can inspire beyond earthly concerns, such as Mr. Obama. During his run he was the "hot chick", so blindingly attractive (politically) that nothing substantive mattered.

Now, with the Dems being represented by multiple voices, many of them not all that impressive, it's understandable that younger folks are questioning their progress. Much of what the Democrats want, in my opinion, is both good and noble. But it's hard to deliver on a dream.

Of course President Obama had no coattails. He was personally popular, but that popularity never translated into Democratic Party's popularity. Generally speaking, he was a disaster for the Democrats.

Rassmusan poll on the day before Kavanaugh gets confirmed

Friday, October 05, 2018

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 38% who Strongly Approve of the president is performing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -1. (see trends).

This is Trump’s highest Presidential Approval Index rating since early March of last year, shortly after he first took office.By comparison, Barack Obama earned a presidential approval index rating of -11 on October 5, 2010, in the second year of his presidency.

But...but...but....

I saw one report that said the Democrats' prospects for the House had improved while the Republicans' prospects for the Senate had improved.

I guess we'll see.

At this point, it does look like the Democrats overplayed their hand once it became clear there was no corroborated evidence that Kavanaugh was involved in sexual assault.

I think the dynamic you’ve missed is the traditional GOP (of which Kavanaugh was clearly a member) and Trumps base have come together. My SO, who despises Trump, will be voting all GOP in the Ohio elections.

Right now as we speak, it is the perfect Republican storm.

1) A GOP president
2) Majority in the Senate
3) Majority in the House
4) Majority of Governors
and now a majority in the SCOTUS.

The Democrats have achieved the impossible. They drove the never Trumpers right into the Trump's camp. I must admit that I never thought that it was possible, but by shitting on the Bush's judge they actually managed the merger.

Not likely, women are really pissed in the US right now.
Stand by for the anger to really build.

Kavanaugh made some of Trump's base angry and more involved, but now the dems are very motivated to take both houses.

Frankie is making a prediction. Which probably means the opposite will happen.
