I would love for them to do that. That way we know who they are and RCMP/CSIS can start surveillance on them
...
And you're volunteering to be under RCMP surveillance when you vote for Faith? In Canada right wing extremists have a much higher death toll that radical Islamists.

Of course it's not but the CRTC regulations clearly say that it is included in election coverage. She's a nobody candidate and deserves nobody coverage
Not true. When she polls even over 1% she is a candidate of some sort.

You just hate her, which means you want to shut her out, which means you hate democracy

I must have missed where they included capitalism as one of our fundamental Charter rights
I never said capitalism was part of the Canadian Charter rights, did I??

I said its part of our core value

Yes, the sort that is a nobody.

And I see you concede that Bell has already provided her airtime according to the CRTC regs.
Good god, Basketcase, you are a terrible reader! Contrary to your numerous posts, a broadcaster cannot satisfy its obligations to sell paid political advertisements equitably by simply covering a candidate who is denied paid spots.

READ:

If a broadcaster sells advertising time to one candidate or party, other candidates and parties must also be given the opportunity to buy commercial airtime from that same broadcaster.

You should read the actual CRTC information posted.

And Faith is not a viable candidate. She is no different than the other 33 attention seekers.

Saw an "Elect Faith Goldy" sign today! Warden and Shepard area.

I was walking through the park about a week ago and I saw this pudgy, ugly little guy with a bad haircut and glasses, about 23. He was clearly some sort of pathetic incel "red pill" loser.

He was wearing a black t-shirt with Faith's image saying "Have a little Faith / Goldy for Mayor"

She's clearly nailed the incel vote.

I actually went to the abortive Mayoral Debate on Housing. From your description, the initial disrupter shouting from the audience coulda been that very guy. But all I can say for sure is he wore the a Faith shirt and kept hollering her name.

No, they havent.
BELL refused her airtime

I'm beginning to wonder if you have read it. Doesnt sound like it
Nowhere does it say it has to sell her ad space. In fact the only reference to ad space is about parties in Federal elections. It says it needs to provide air time to candidates and it explicitly says that includes "Campaign news coverage and public affairs" and they have provided coverage about her campaign.

Bell also has the right to reject an ad based on the content. If they and their lawyers found her ads offensive to community standards they are under no obligation to accept them. As I said, there is no way that this did not go through the legal department before being decided on and odds are they know a fair bit more about the law and CRTC than you or I.

Get over it. Your white pride girl is a nobody with a campaign based solely on xenophobia. Thankfully most people accept that nobodies get far less coverage than real candidates.

Russian Propaganda Networks Are Promoting White Nationalist Faith Goldy’s Run for Toronto Mayor

Russian state propaganda outlets push message that Goldy is being ‘blacklisted’ because she’s a ‘threat to the establishment’
October 22, 2018 Share Tweet

Two of the Kremlin’s top international propaganda channels are boosting a former Rebel Media host’s long shot bid to become mayor of Toronto.

In the closing days of Toronto’s municipal election, Russian state-run outlets RT and Sputnik are publishing glowing puff pieces, uncritical interviews and viral videos about Faith Goldy, recasting the controversial white nationalist candidate as a “plucky outsider” and a “rising threat to the establishment.”

The Russian outlets simultaneously offer thin excuses for Goldy’s well-documented ties to white supremacists and neo-Nazi groups, downplaying her past controversial statements as nothing more than a playful “sort of free speech dare.”

Facebook

An analysis of social media activity by PressProgress shows the Russian propaganda articles have managed to circulate among Goldy’s supporters and ultranationalist far-right Canadian Facebook pages.

Facebook

Goldy is a former Rebel Media contributor who was fired from the far-right website after she praised a manifesto calling for a white ethno-state and appeared on a neo-Nazi podcast.

She later became an independent alt-right YouTuber, appearing in videos reciting a white supremacist creed and endorsing a book authored by a 1930s fascist author advocating “the elimination of Jews.”

Last year’s report from the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Russian interference during the 2016 elections describes RT and Sputnik as key instruments in “Russia’s state-run propaganda machine.”

RT is specifically identified as “the Kremlin’s principal international propaganda outlet” while Sputnik is said to reinforce “pro-Kremlin” messaging over social media.

In 2017, the Moscow-based RT complied with the US government and formally registered as a “foreign agent” of the Russian government.

The Russian government claims RT is a source for “alternative views,” but their slant editorially is less ideological than it is opportunistic, amplifying voices on opposite sides of divisive issues as part of a strategy aimed at fuelling “discontent” abroad.

In Europe, RT and Sputnik have been influential in building and fuelling far-right online communities centered on anti-immigration and anti-refugee issues.

In recent years, RT has taken a special interest in giving platforms to hate figures like alt-right leader Richard Spencer, former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke and now, apparently, Faith Goldy too.

Both articles from RT and Sputnik paint a sympathetic portrait of Goldy.

RT, which misspells her name as “Goldie,” calls her a “plump-lipped” and “plucky outsider” who could be “Toronto’s next mayor.” Sputnik calls her “strong” and “smart” with “grounded political views.”

The Russian propaganda outlets simultaneously downplay her extremist views, calling her a victim of “free speech” censorship and “generic Nazi name-calling.”

RT absurdly claims Goldy is not a white nationalist, but merely a critic of “cultural relativism that devalues European culture, and the embrace of multiculturalism.”

They claim she is “censured by rivals” and “blacklisted by major media outlets,” all because she wants to stop Toronto from turning into a “sharia safe space.”

The propaganda channel also strikes a complimentary tone towards Ontario Premier Doug Ford for issuing an “ambiguous statement” rather than a “groveling disavowal of Goldy” after he posed for a photo with Goldy and members of her campaign team, which included members of the group ID Canada, an affiliate of the European “neo-fascist” group Generation Identity.

Twitter

Goldy, not surprisingly, welcomes the attention.

The Toronto mayoral fringe candidate recently appeared on a Sputnik podcast to criticize Canada’s immigration system.

Goldy tweeted a link to RT’s puff piece Sunday night, nonchalantly calling it “Russian interference in the Toronto election,” before claiming she was “kidding” and then accusing “the censorious political elite and their bedfellows in the corporate media” of being the ones meddling in Toronto’s municipal election.

While RT ultimately concedes Goldy will not win the election, the propagandists are eager to plant the false idea that her inevitable loss is the result of being blacklisted and “ground into obscure irrelevance” by Canada’s “establishment”:

“The guardians of Canada’s political propriety need not worry about her – for now. But as they serve up their victory feast, will doubts prickle their minds? Was this a decisive victory, considering their advantages in numbers and equipment? Was it won fairly and with glory, according to the code of chivalry to which they ostensibly subscribe?”

Ironically, one person who does not subscribe to that theory is Goldy’s former employer, Rebel Media’s Ezra Levant.

Like his “bedfellows” in the media party and political establishment, the far-right pundit isn’t covering Goldy’s campaign either.

Not because he disagrees with Goldy’s extremist ideas, but because she’s “marginal” and her campaign is a “Twitter vanity project” that’s all about building up followers on social media.

Putin and his trolls love Faith. And if there's a true seal of approval from a diehard democratic people's president, it has to come from Mr No Shirt Putin himself.

Betcha if Faith plays her cards right, she could be playing Natasha to Putin's Boris and cashing in an all expenses paid winter vacation in sunny Moscow as an honored guest of the Little Bear-ovsky himself.

Faith came in THIRD!!!!!!!!!!! (Or as she likes to say: She finished "On the Podium") And she promised that this is just the beginning. That ought to be good for at least one whack off session for the Terb Incel members (aka: Terb's self declared "Righties").

Although Goldy was always destined to finish a distant third, and she really didn't have any great new ideas to table, the fact that she finished third should be embarrassing to those debate organizers who invited (up to 3) other candidates to their debates who did far worse at the polls. It reveals those organizers as being political operatives, rather than just organizations trying to provide public access and exposure to the front runners (as a public service). It makes Bell look particularly bad in denying her paid advertising.

It makes Bell look bad in the eyes of the 25K who voted for Goldy. For the rest, it won't make a bit of a difference on whether the deal or don't deal with Bell. I would argue that Bell came out ahead on this in a city like Toronto. Good business decision on their part. Further, I would bet that Goldy won't bother going to the CRTC with her grievances either.
