All hail Tiger Woods, who today won the "Tour Championship" at East Lake GC in Atlanta, leading pretty much wire-to-wire for the full 4 days.

East Lake is a very challenging course, the Tour Championship is the last tournament of the season, and the players were the top 30 in the FedEx Cup standings, which means the cream of the crop!

His first tournament win in 5 years, culminating a season in which he showed he is back on his game.

The galleries were going nuts!!!

Great for Tiger and great for golf.

Only Sam Snead is ahead of him in tour wins (82 - 80). Tiger will end up with the most tour wins in the history of golf and I cannot see anyone right now who can even threaten that mark.

Most likely, but many people said the same thing about Tiger and Jack and the majors when he was only 32.

It all comes down to his health now. If he stays healthy he surpasses Snead in a walk and wins more majors. 90% of PGA tour players recently polled said he'd win another major.

This has to be the greatest comeback ever in golf or at least rivals Ben Hogan's (came back from near death in an automobile accident in the 1950"s).

Pure speculation on my part, but I do not think that he will win another major. This was a small field tournament. I guess a major must have somewhere from 125-150 of the world's elite. Somewhat more difficult. Regardless, it makes golf more compelling to watch when he is in contention.

You just knew it was coming because he had be knocking on the door the last little while. I always knew he was going to come back. No doubt age catches up with everyone and wouldn't be as good as his prime, but still had enough talent to compete if healthy. Golf is not a sport only for the young. Tom Watson almost won the British Open at age 59.

Winning this tournament was harder than many full field events such as the Canadian open. You put the 30 players in the field every week and they win the majority of the tournament. The strength of field of this event of 62, which considers field size, is still quite high. Other than majors the highest aid is 80.

Anyone understand spinal fusion?

Woods has had anterior lumbar interbody spinal fusion. That is where they remove a disc and insert a bone graft.

I thought it was a very risky operation and you would never be normal again, yet, there he is, putting strain on his back with every swing and playing world class golf

WTF?

I think medicine is the real story here.

Surgeons put Humpty back together again.

I suspect his conditioning had a lot to do with it

great stomach muscles offer support to his lower disk

Europe is got it going so far. How do you like "Moli-wood" pairing. Good thing Speith and Thomas salvaged something for them
The biggest question in sports is why Woods and Phil do so poorly at the Ryder. They went 0 for 6 this time .

Different type of course to the ones they are used to. They should have done the French Open to understand what they were going to be finding. None of the US team did.

Patrick Reed spouting off about Spieth and Furyk...he's an idiot. Never liked him. I only followed him around the Canadian Open ten years ago for two holes because his wife was on his bag....and I wanted her on mine.
What did he say?
