Tornado stories ..... post em here

Surprised no one posted about the crazy tiimes we are seeing after the storm. I was out and about, waiting at traffic lights and seeing the super long lines at the few open gas stations in the west and south sides.

I don't live in Ottawa so why was I there? I had an appointment with an MA and she wasn't answering messages so I decided to see if she was ok. Turns out she was standing outside as her place had no power, waiting for a taxi that would never come. Her phone was dying so charged it in my car, magically her replies to my messages showed up on my phone. We spent a nice time in the spa using my phone for light and then I took her to her friends afterward.

So I got a nice massage and helped a sweet lady, what else does a person do after tornado? I will review the lady later. Actually I also helped out another friend whose son's townhouse lost it's roof and a tree ended up on top of his car.

BTW, ironically I was at work about 13km from both tornados when they hit. I always wanted to see a tornado .... from a distance of course. Two of them suckers, one to the north, one to the south and I was looking out the wrong window LOL

Hopefully everyone here is ok after the storm, it is fairly amazing that they have power restored to roughly half the people already.

I watched both funnels forming over my head but touching down some 20 kms or so to the north. Very impressive and scary as shit at the same time.

Lost power for a day + half.
Walked around a very dark neighbourhood at night. The only light came from the almost full moon.

The roads on the 2nd day were packed with cars. I was wondering why there were so many cars out and about - then it occurred to me that everyone was recharging their phones.
Dreadful to hear about all the destruction. Those folks who lost or had damage to their homes must be stressed like crazy.

I had invited friends for a dinner party, so panic time when after I come home I find the power was gone.. waited about an hour and called plan B.., Cooked the meal in the BBQ (I have a burner) and we were 6 happy campers dinning to candle light and used Blue tooth speakers to keep the music going... it was a success dinner party with no power....

I live off Greenbank Rd, so was on the edge, the wind picked up and shook my trees during the touchdown. I was without power for a little over three days. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

I was actually evicted from my house for nine days as my building was hit. Balconies were removed from the building but my actual apartment itself had no damage which is good. Happy to be home!
