Two confirmed tornados ripped through the nation's capital region yesterday, almost 200,000 were without power last night. About half still without power now. Luckily so far no deaths.
I was at work when they hit which is ironically about 13km from both tornados even though in opposite directions. I had no idea and did not see them, just thought it was one hellacious storm. Needless to say I lucked out, many others not nearly as lucky. The city is somewhat paralyzed, traffic lights out are snarling traffic, mostly on south and west end. Gas stations with power are few and those lucky to be open have crazy long lines.
Strange times in Ottawa area last couple days, folks all pulling together and helping out.
