No machine is ever %100 virus free. They sell you the false sense of security. Any top notch skilled hacker can hack your chromebook if he/she wanted to added that if your a DFU and doesn't use any common sense.

Excellent point. Even the very best AV software only detects 99% of the known viruses (meaning >100,000 viruses cannot be detected, although the odds of seeing many are near-zero)) and any new zero-day viruses (they use abnormality detection algorithms for these).

People keep talking about Linux (Apple OS is based on a Linux Kernel) being all but invulnerable, but nothing is further from the truth. More and more AV vendors are realising products for Linux builds for this very reason.

Linux and Apple OS can be hacked easly, it's just that there are more windows users that make it worth the hackers time.

I use firefox or Brave browser. Chrome tracks you and sells your data. Brave broswer doesn't. Firefox is a little better too. Also don't use google search if don't like them tracking you, use duckduckgo.com. For email I use protonmail. For youtube, facebook, Instagram and google maps I use chrome but for everything else that requires privacy (like online banking or terb or private emails) I use firefox and Brave and protonmail with VPN. Instead of googlemaps you can use waze.
But they shoudn't be doing that if you go incognito, clearly it is fair game if you are just using the default browser.

Eh. I've used it for so long that there probably isn't much that they don't know about me
