Police: Daytona Beach woman fatally stabs pet pit bull attacking husband

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Florida woman fatally stabbed her pet pit bull as it was attacking her husband.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports the husband was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment following the Sunday attack.

Daytona Beach police say the 54-year-old woman stabbed the 75-pound (34-kilogram) dog multiple times with a kitchen knife to get it off her 57-year-old husband. Officials say the pit bull got into a fight over a toy with the couple's Labrador mix, and the husband tried to break it up.

That's when the pit bull turned on the husband, who ended up losing part of his finger.

You're right. I saw a video last year of a 48 year old woman in Argentina who apparently was high on drugs and passed out and a pitbull ate all the skin on her face off. It was one of the most painful things I've ever seen. Just a speechless woman (probably still high) filmed sitting in a chair with her face a mass of raw red meat - eyes seemed to be there but no nose, no lips, no skin. I could post a link to the video here but it's terrifyingly gruesome.
Why would you even watch it or consider posting it. Are you a sicko?

For the same reasons that the government mandates that cigarette companies display gruesome photos on cigarette packages showing what cigarettes do to the human body.

Smoke cigarettes... this could happen to you.

Have large wild meat-eating animals as pets in your home... this is what could happen to you.

That being said, let me know if you want me to PM the link to you.

or don't do drugs. she was probably out for days and dog was getting hungry. What's a hungry neglected dog to do. Eat. A druggy owning a pit is not a good combo.

He said the tiger was trying to drag him to safety or something, like how a mother tiger picks up a cub by its neck.

We can go on and on and on about Pitbulls being dangerous. I would say yes, they are dangerous, just like any dog, they are unpredictable. The difference is power. I've seen some chihuahuas that are just unpredictable or even have worse temper than pitbulls...the only difference is size, athleticism and power. You can have a very aggressive yorkie with a bad attitude...I'd take that over the most kind "well mannered" dogo(Argento) any day. The fact is, there is a level of chance a dog that size can rip apart an adult human if it decides to...

Third- and fourth-graders were playing after lunch in an elementary school playground in Oklahoma City Monday afternoon when a loose pit bull wandered in and attacked, the school’s principal said at a news conference.

As the children ran away, the loose dog started biting, KFOR reported. There were 28 children and three teachers on the playground at the time of the attack, said Susan Martin Rachels, principal of Fillmore Elementary. .

A little boy is lucky to be alive after a savage attack by his neighbour’s American pit bull.

Angus’s mother Gillian received arm injuries when she tried to stop the dog from clinging to her son’s neck, with the animal only unlatching its hold because it turned on her.

The attack happened about 1pm today in Quakers Hills, west of Sydney, when Angus and a friend were outside on the footpath talking to the neighbour.

Harmless puppies. Yada Yada........ All how they are breed, and all that bullshit. The few times I've come in contact, I keep them to fuck away from me and mine and that's all I care about. If the owners want to have these types of dogs , power to them, and I spit in their direction when I hear stories of these "beautiful babies" chewing on their loved ones faces.

If you keep a loaded gun in your house accidents can happen even if you love guns.

Worst then that actually. You do not educated a gun. You need to educate a Pittbull. And better then any other breed of dog.

Absolutely nobody seems to have a problem with suggesting different breeds of dog have different temperaments.
The moment you suggest that a breed which has a breeding history towards violence has a violent temperament the pit bull types complain.
Interesting that.

A dog isn't a robot, nor is it a human. It is a creature that makes decisions but doesn't have the human inclination to think it though.

Any dog can snap
Training can reduce but not eliminate this ability to snap [even humans can be dicks and do things they regret
Some breeds are more likely to snap than others
Some breeds if they snap are much more dangerous than others.

Add it that, human jerks who want to pretend to be tough tend to get the fearsome breeds and are exactly the sort of soylent green you wouldn't want to trust with a dog of that sort.

I'd say that if someone was a reasonably sort whose Pitbull is less likely but still potentially could snap can't understand why some dog breeds are a problem, well I'd assume they are probably the sort who shouldn't be trusted with such dogs in the first place, not always perhaps but still.

As someone said, the numbers do not lie, much like Sir Mix-a-lot on the topic of his love of big butts.

Owner wants to keep the dog.
Cesar calls the dog dangerous and not a fit for the owner.
Imagine what could have happened if Cesar didn't step in here.
Put a dumb owner with a pitbull and it's a recipe for disaster.

Vid brings out the fact that U.S. pitbulls are sent up to Canada with their criminal behavior expunged. For the next willing victim to adopt.

Here we go again.
Think what you will, IMO, you've all been brainwashed. Nothing anyone can say or do will change your minds.
Power breeds are like guns in the sense that they don't kill people, people kill people....
Difference is guns don't need to be trained not to shoot strangers but like with guns, it's also easy to make mistakes and the results care significant.

I hate the term 'pure bred'. I think inbred is more appropriate and all it does is heightens any flaws in the species. In many cases, entire breeds are descended from one set of parents.

Pits can be great dogs but if a dog is going to lose it, I'd rather it be a basset hound.

p.s. I hate when dead threads are revived.
