Legalization of marijuana is one of these decisions that can be driven strictly by pragmatic reasoning. Whether legal or not - it's use is fairly common and keeping it illegal will not solve the underlying problem of abuse. So on pragmatic terms, legalizing it allows the Govt to participate in the revenue stream and use a portion of this stream for education about responsible use, etc - or even for fighting the abuse of stronger drugs (eg: opiates). The rest can be used like any other govt revenue stream. In short - instead of criminals making all the profits, the Govt can now get a piece of the action. This is the driving force that will likely see the legalization of weed spread - strictly pragmatic reasoning. I'm 100% for legalization for these reasons. Arguably, legalizing weed will reduce it's perception as a "gateway" drug because users will be able to purchase it from a licensed vendor. These licenses will have value, so vendors would be risking a lot by selling harder drugs under the counter. So less contact with criminal elements who would use weed as a gateway drug to increase their customer base for harder drugs would be reduced.

I agree that a carbon tax is not the solution only a starting point. Eventually governments will be forced to implement climate controls, insurance companies are taking kicks to the balls and are passing the expense to policy holders.

I'm happy to report that Vaughan City Council isn't as stupid and greedy as I though. A pond near McMichael Gallery has been spared from development. We successfully proved that draining it would cause flooding downstream. Islington Av would be cut off due to flood water, between Hwy 7 and Steeles Av, during the spring thaw and heavy storms.

OMG!
They were off by 10%
OMG!

Seriously, that's all you've got?
Tip of the iceberg.
The cost in total for that trip was ridiculous.
Add to that by election time a shitty NAFTA deal, no pipeline, a budget that has not “balanced itself”, and a few more Aga Khan boondoggles and Justin will be all uhhhs and uhhhh’s.
And we have not heard the last of groping incident...
Fun times ahead!

This one's a dandy...Trudeau is toast.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's controversial trip to India in February was even more expensive than first reported.
Documents tabled in the House of Commons Monday reveal that the nine-day trip cost Canadian taxpayers $1.66 million — roughly 10 per cent higher than the $1.5 million the government reported in June.

You forgot to mention that it costed almost $ 1 million less than Harper's similar trip to India. The CONNARTISTSvertives always try to pick at straws as you did not read the fact that Harpo flew cars over to India as well for his trips, and I thought that apparently the CONNs were the ones that were cash savvy in their spending. But it was not the case as the CONNS always pretend that they will save the taxpayers more money!!

This whole India controversy is water under the bridge, and you are the only one who keeps on seeing it in your dreams!!

Harper had to bring armoured vehicles...Junior brought a convicted assassin.

From the report:
Global Affairs spent the most on the trip — $790,210, including $17,044 to fly celebrity chef Vikram Vij to India to prepare a meal for an official reception.

The tab for food and drinks aboard the prime minister's Airbus came to $142,938 "based on the latest review of payments," according to the Department of National Defence (DND).

All you keep saying about the groping incident, this India failure, etc "water under the bridge". Here's some news for you...the bridge has been washed out due to all the "water" the Liberals are trying to flow under that bridge with their boondoggles and embarrassments.

Yeah, 'cause Harper is yet another scared right winger.
He had to bring armoured vehicles 'cuz there weren't good closets to hide in.
It's not up to the Prime Minister...it's up to the RCMP.
Trudeau had to bring a convicted assassin because he wanted to ensure that the India trip was totally fucked up.

Trudeau brought the convicted assassin?? Where do you get your information from?? Show us proof that the Government paid for it?
$17,044 + $142,938 is less than $100,000,000 for the armoured vehicles by miles. Do your mathematics!!

What India failure when he got a better deal than Harper did? Go and do your homework and see the difference based on the treaties signed by the two PMs.

Your stupid assumptions have very little substance as usual.

And that has benefitted you personally by...?
In an era of corruption, cynicism and insanity, Trudeau offers the hope that some leaders still believe in the principles of fairness, compassion and democracy.

I'm probably the only person on the board dead against that one. I still shake my head at this soon to become a reality.

Its addictive, a health risk and if people though smart phones were toxic for dumbing down a Country, fasten your belts. Driving alone these days is becoming a nightmare,
I can't imagine how this would make it any better.

Everyone I know is all for this, but I just dread this happening.
What has happened in Colorado with driving? Just wondering.

I am not looking forward to the next election, I'm not voting Jagmeet Singh's party, I don't even consider it the NDP while that incompetent asshole leads it, so I have no one to vote for
Maybe I will stay home and no vote or spoil my ballot or vote for a fringe party, I don't know.
