Back in 2003, I gave up smoking pot 15 years ago. I just recently had a rebirth of cannabis by trying edibles for the very first time almost 3 weeks ago at the New Order concert. Had a fucking blast and now I'm hooked on edibles. LOL In fact, just tonight was my first time seeing a movie stoned in a public place. Haven't seen a film in a movie theatre HIGH in well over a decade. I chose a great new movie "The Predator" to see on marijuana gummy bears.

More votes for good than bad is not totally surprising.
I absolutely support the legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes.
I do not support a blanket legalization. I believe it will lead to increased crime and a threat to public safety. More drivers under the influence.
I believe easier access to the drug will lead to increased health care costs particularly when it comes to mental illness. I've seen the long term effects of chronic marijuana use and it ain't pretty.
God help us.
I differentiate good/bad from legal/illegal.

I think there should be a high burden of societal harm for something to be illegal.

Smoking is bad, in fact I think anyone who smokes is a moron who’s driving up healthcare costs. I don’t think it should be illegal.

I realize it's easily accessible right now and it's not yet legalized. But should it be easily accessible? I can drink 3 beers in an hour and not feel a thing. I take 2 or 3 hits of a joint and I'm high as a kite for 30-45 minutes. You can't compare the two. Weed today is SO strong. I ate 1/3 of an edible brownie at a BBQ last year and I was paralyzed in my chair for 2 hours. I couldn't formulate a sentence, I couldn't stand up, I could barely put a bottle to my mouth to drink. We legalize this stuff it only gets stronger.

I get that many responsible everyday folks like to sit back, light up a joint and relax. Listen to some tunes, watch a movie, have sex whatever. Are they criminals - of course not. But there are far too many people who chronically smoke multiple times a day. They are generally younger (under 25), unemployed or part time employed. Aren't active, play video games for hours and have no drive. Is this the generation we want to take over once we are older and need care? I find that a scary proposition.

That'll be a very small percentage of the population. Every generation has its share of losers that succumb to silly addictions that destroy their entire lives. People are doing it already- might as well regulate it to make it safer for everyone and make money off it.

Whether it is good or bad depends on the role of the smoker.
Bill Gates might have said weeds were good for him. But he would
not likely want the assembly language programmers to be under
the influence of marijuana when debugging MS-DOS..

I would not care if my MPA smokes pot but I certainly hope
the pilot in my flight or the surgeon operating on my prostate
to be wholesome non-smokers.
Yup. Time and place. Moderation. Responsibility while using.

Just like any other recreational activity. Drinking, sex (like porn, this industry etc)

That's you. That's them. Younger crowds are drinking energy drinks to stay awake playing those games. You can drink 3 beers and be fine, I couldn't. I will be plastered.

I could smoke 3 joints in an hour and be fine. So itnis yo to you - the person.

And for some people - they need to smoke all day or they can't function. From pain to stress and axienty. It has been proven the benefits for some people. CBD oil for save and life saving for children.

Other then a glass of wine a day - I have never heard of the medical benefits from alcohol. just sayin'.

Seem more like you are being a hater to something you don't know or affects you differently. I only say this because I have the same hate on for alcohol. I have had too many negative experiences with alcoholics that I hear a beer can open and I get triggered.

So to each their own for both of us right?

You did good. Lots of people that stop smoking and then start years latter get nervous and paranoid for some reason.

I saw something on CBC news last night about some company here betting the farm on building a massive facility for production. I wonder if they are overly optimistic. I can't see how widespread use on a national basis will keep anyone productive. I never really enjoyed it. Good for getting paranoid and anxious for hours and hours. Is there really such a big demand?

Are there going to be laws against advertising
marijuana on TV? If not the pot companies will find
every trick they can learn from the beer and cigarette
business to get people addicted. Men who use their
products will be portrayed as cool dudes surrounded
by hot young women. Sky will be the limit for demand
when smoking weeds become as common as cigarettes
in the 60's.

Good if you will invest in the MJ stocks. Bad for overall economy, health care system etc

Taking away people’s choices is bad. MJ is abusable like any drug but should not be criminal offence. Legalizing is step forward.

Since any drugs are as abusable as MJ anyway
we may as well fully legalize heroin and cocaine.

Hard to OD on pot.

It’s not good, it’s just less bad.

Nothing will change. The same people that were potheads when weed was illegal will be the same people smoking it when it becomes legal

You did good. Lots of people that stop smoking and then start years latter get nervous and paranoid for some reason.
It wasn't just paranoia, but I physically had chest pains and felt a tightness and a knot around my heart every time I continued to smoke pot. My pals all tried to tell me it was in my head and that it was just a panic/anxiety attack I was having. I use to smoke pot for years and was always fine, but then these chest pains started to happen every single time so I stopped cold turkey in 2003.

Exactly 3 weeks ago, I tried edibles for the first time and did take a bit too much for a novice 50mg THC in chocolate at the New Order concert. I was still having a good time and was in control of most of the time. I've had edibles 4 more times and have taken smaller doses ranging from 10mg to 25mg THC and have been alright since my new rebirth of cannabis through marijuana edibles. With my discovery of edibles, I can't see myself smoking pot ever again. However, with some research I did learn you can still have chest pains, paranoia, anxiety etc. from ingesting instead of inhaling cannabis.
