Drug testing still to WADA parameters so no THC allowed. Still watching the Raps while LEGALLY :rapture:blitzed is way better than hiding in the closet!!! Ergo fun season for sure...

D, pass the munchies and cut our Raps some slack, man, it's game one! Even IV, who doesn't ball much, knows to be patient. …
lover I have been patient, but give me a break, how many years before we get the big lead and close the door? This has been going on forever with this team!

.....and all curses went UP IN SMOKE... :bump:yesterday anyways..... Game one done, 1-0, bring on those Celts for the first statement game cette jeune saison ( in recognition du province avec the cheapest weed in the land ) let's go Raps!
I agree team hasn't jelled yet, gotta find out who can do what and with who, they will get better! Surprised Munroe never got any time last night, he looked a little, shall we say ,anxious! loved some of the younger guys Siakim Anunoby Van Vleet !

True my hoops days ended with high school. My family/extended has always been active in promoting soccer in Canada, CSA politics blocked my cousin from becoming Canada's Men's Team coach.

But I do know that JV loves getting under The Emotional Lesbian's skin, he plays his best against Boogie Cousins. I hope that continues.

fun game against Boston. Hopefully all the fans boohooing about seeing DeMar Derozan go now see what they're getting from Leonard.(don't get me wrong, I like Demar) Leonard is a beast, not unlike Lebron that can take over a game at both ends of the floor. I think the biggest punctuation of this game was Leonard and Green both running down and blocking a Celtic layup near the end of the game. that's going to be a regular occurrence like Lebron and DWade, and it will get contagious. The raptors will get better both offensively and defensively.
Once again though Toronto will have to prove themselves again to the American media, and beat Boston next time in Boston. ESPN panel has Toronto and Boston pretty evenly matched with home court advantage potentially being the difference in the playoffs. I think Toronto will play better on the road than Boston does anyway.

Absolutely a statement made! And it's only game two!! And wonk, that double block was as amazing a d play from the Raps as any in the past. Those two are amazing ballers and smart and aggressive and yes, we miss DD, but the imagination is starting to run wild with these two and the rest of the gang. If they haven't got it together yet, watch out!

And the close out...Dawg this year when they want to hammer down, it'll be a nuclear explosion! When this squad has those 4-5 minutes of thunder all they sure do look formidable. Defence is finally not fake news here in the Six!

And if they can weed out the Wiz, the bandwagon will have a waiting list! Game two done, 2-0 bring on the Wiz! Let's go Raps!

Agree with you Wonky, good game, well played and fun to watch. Leonard is here to perform, Green is a great pick up as well. Anyone that had concerns about KLo can pretty much put them to rest.
Ibaka had a great night offensively, I still am not impressed with his D but was a big improvement from the opener.

Washington tonight. Back to back and the first away game. Hope things continue to go well!

Was lucky enough to have tickets to last nights game! Leonard is truely a top 3 player in the NBA. We are lucky to have a Superstar on on our Team! Lets go Raps!

gfe: So far it has been fun to watch and my guess is barring injuries, it is only going to get better! Looking at the stats from last night's game stats were very similar. Not much difference in the 2 teams.

Washington usually plays the Raps tough, see what happens tonight. Hope Armstrong has laryngitis!

I didn't see the game but followed some of the game stats up to the end of the first half (very late this side of the pond). The big difference as far as I could see was that Leonard had a much better second half. His shooting figures for the first half were quite ordinary and that was one reason why the Raptors were down a bit on Boston. I'd like to know what changed?

IMO Leonard came out for the third Q with energy and determination and was what the Raps had hoped he was. He kicked ass in the third. He may not be the most vocal guy on the team but he leads by example! Good all around effort. That is my opinion and I am not an expert so I am hoping a few more voices will chime in with their thoughts!

Tea, that was one of the most enjoyable games I have watch in a long time. It was close until the last few minutes. Very well played. I have not checked the schedule but both of these teams will get better as the season progresses. Leonard and Heyward both are showing rust from the lack of playing time last year, The rust will wear off and the flow will improve as they get to know their team mates!

I agree. I think anyone who had doubts about (Kawhi) myself included can put those concerns of a rental player to bed. This guy has come to play.

So we at least get one good season out of him. I point that out because I was worried he'd do something crazy like sit out the year.

They rested the Klaw for a couple of days yet they went in and just did their job and got that bandwagon really loaded up!

Tsoc, I think we'll see this from KLaw for the first bit, as he gets his battle face on. He still is getting back into court shape so the inconsistency will linger. Once he gets "in rhythm" (as the kids say!) man, it'll be a fun watch! Sample so far though is a revelation! Rest yesterday is perfect for the long run success of this group.

So while he rests, KLo is taking out his inner anger on opponents early. While not pretty (I agree dawg, hammer time last night wud have been good!) and not all necessarily on form yet, they never looked like they'd lose that one. Said last week after this opening stretch, we'd get a good idea of what this experiment wood be like. Well, let go of all the half full stuff, I'm all in for this as I think we have something special brewing. While my expectations were high, this start was even better than I thought it'd be. Notwithstanding (learned that word from Dougie :very_drunk:) all the ills and wills of a long season, if they stay away from minor and major injuries, if they can truly get together and keep moving forward, ProLine will have even money on Raps lines rest of the year! We might even had a few bud fans switch over last night! ( Just realized using "Bud fans" today might be confusing ). Frank, I agree this one year, if that's all it is, if they all come to play, it's going to be Dy-no-mmmiiiittteee!

So let's go smoke out those Hornets, and get this bandwagon replaced by a jumbo jet. Game three done, 3-0, let's get past Bismack and those bees. Let's go Raps!

CJ Miles may have succumbed to the dreaded GoDaddy curse.....
I'll by a pair. Hope they make them in non-NBA pant lengths.

Ibaka worries me in that he moves like he's old at times and doesn't seem able to react quickly. His intensity has been pretty good in games 2 and 3 but I worry about his ability to last a season.

On the other hand, Siakam is looking very promising.

The Hornets won't be a walkover .. They might be one of those sneaking good teams this season ...

I guess it's good for the new coach to do a lot of experimenting in the early stages of the season but the bench mob had chemistry last year and hope he goes back to that . It seems a lot more isoball is being played and I thought we were trying to get away from that .

My fears on Lowry's attitude being a cancer to this season has not been the case ... So far so good ( great ) ...

I watched the second half against the Wiz, Kwahi wasn't in the line up. Did Coach nurse rest him as a precaution?

they probably should rest Ibaka when possible. they just really need him when the opposing 5 is that much more mobile than JV.

I agree about Charlotte. Raps can't take anyone lightly. A lot of teams have gotten better. Look at Denver beating GS last night. I can't figure out Washington either. It seems Wall and Beals can walk right through us at will at the end of the games when they are down and desperate, yet they don't do it throughout the game, and we end up winning. Albeit without Leonard this time.

I predict Raptors to have the best record in the East only to lose to Boston in the playoffs. Why do all Toronto teams lose to Boston in the playoffs??? :frusty:

Boston loses to Orlando. I'm sure they'll get it together before the end of the season. Great win for Toronto. It won't be long before teams start really throwing their best at us. Our defense really is good though. Scoring isn't a problem either.
