Game 1 Saturday! Hope the Raps come out smokin' and make a statement!
I think both Giannis and Embiid are playing on one leg. Boston and Toronto will take advantage of that with their respective game plans on defending the two. The sport pundits in the US were calling for Boston and Tor in the east finals at the beginning of the year. This prediction is slowly coming into the picture. Toronto in 6 vs 76ers and Boston in 7 vs Giannis and Co.

Steven A Smith says the 76ers will win the round. I hope he eats his words and Embiid can continue Shaqtin a Fool.

The NETS averaged about 115 points against the 76ers. The Raps kept Orlando below 90/game. its going to be a very different series for Philly.
If Philly lets us score 105 points/game we'll win this series no doubt. They ain't scoring over 110 against the Raps.

5???, Figured you as a 5 or less guy? If the Raps play like they did after the first game against the Magic, should be 4 straight. Problem is, that word again, if!!!

Looking forward to tonight's telecast. No Armstrong!:encouragement:

eating the offal that The Mafuzzy Chef served him held no terrors for Kawhi - unlike some who cried and puked (no wonder Manchester United sucks). Offal makes you strong, pound for pound Kawhi has the strength of a Shaq. Has he played enough games to qualify for the MVP?

Kyle actually has it easier than Kawhi, is he offal strong? To be fair to Bismack Biyombo, Serge didn't prepare his offal properly. Beef tongue skin is inedible.

Wanted to be less but 24 years of scars still gets an extra game just in case !!! Game by game as always but each game so far in these playoffs (even the first) has been erasing those past years gradually! Truly a blessing to see this level of BBall in TO so far. As I said last July, Kawhi Leonard is a Raptor. Let's go Raptors!

Kawhi is friggin' awesome. He made moves last night that were almost superhuman. Performance was simply outstanding shooting, defense, passing, effort, it was incredible to watch. Siakim is amazing as well. If and when the bench players start to score, 76ers are done in short order.
Gasol can play D and he did shut Embiid down. JV controlled him too and JV did it when he was considered to be healthy. Both players have their positives and negatives. I think Gasol probably has a higher basketball IQ than JV but JV will still be playing when Gasol is retired. It isn't the worst trade Masai has made. If Gasol could consistently hit the outside shots Embiid would be screwed defensively as he would have to come outside to defend.

Douala 1 Yaounda 0

if you're at the game, start the chant, "Dou a La" "Dou a La"

its so easy to say that Philly should win at least one or two, but wouldn't a sweep be nice. It's all about the defense. It is possible, and would be great to think about Boston and Milwaukee going 7 games, beating each other up, knowing we're sitting back and watching.

Gasol has locked up Vucevic and now Embiid. Can we now agree this trade was Boss?
The Gasol trade quietly is one of the best late acquisitions this year. Don't get me wrong, because I liked JV and remember how he was such a force in the 2016 playoffs until he went down with that ankle sprain in the Heat series. But Gasol is fantastic for this group. The Raps became the best 3-point shooting team in the league since the trade. That says a lot! His defensive presence is undeniable. If you only look at offensive stats, you might think meh. But if you watch the games, his impact when he's on the floor is evident. On defense, he is the quarterback and a lock down defender, and on offense his passing is outstanding and his basketball IQ is off the charts.

While still with Memphis this year, Gasol held Embid to just 6/18 shooting, tying Embid's worst performance this season. Yesterday, Embid went 5/18. Ibaka also played Embid really well, but Gasol takes it to another level. Gasol, not Leonard, had the best plus/minus in the game at +29 in 26 minutes. This is no fluke. There is a reason why he was the Defensive Player of the Year 2013, and is considered by most a future Hall of Famer. I loved JV and miss the big Lithuanian, but to win a championship, Gasol makes a difference.

Masai was controversial and got a lot of heat from some corners for his reaction after last year's playoffs, but the man wanted to field a championship caliber team and was ruthless in going for it. I'm tipping my hat to him for giving us a chance to have the best year ever by a Raptors team, and IF Kawai does resign (I know, a giant IF), then look out NBA, the Raps will be on path to a championship.

The Raptors ARE on a path to a championship! If they can play like they did yesterday, they can compete with anyone, including the Warriors.
I felt we were lucky to play Philly and let Boston and Milwaukee beat each other up. I felt going in we should beat Philly, and maybe easy.

Now after yesterday's game I was feeling really good too.

Only a few hours later, im watching Boston and Milwaukee, and I'm thinking its a looooong way still even to an Eastern Conf championship. 2 point game at the half and both teams look impressive. Boston moreso.

I'm pretty sure after watching GS and Houston play later this afternoon, its only going to seem like a much longer road to an NBA championship.

I do agree with that especially with the power of our defense, and often the best defensive teams wins championships, but it's still a hope considering the talented teams to come. But IF Kawai resigns, I'd say we'll move to a level of certainty that a championship is well within range in the years to come with Kawai and Pascal leading the way, and Masai continuing to put the pieces together.

Kawhi's a GOD. That was one of the most dominant performances I've seen in quite some time. Philly can't stop him or Siakam.
The Celtics throttled the Bucks in game 1 today. Milwaukee shot just 35% from the field.
It's shaping up to be a Raptors Celtics conference final match up. I think that would go 7 games.

if we can make it to the finals and beat Golden State, our chances increase dramatically to sign Kevin Durant! :)

One game at a time fellas, one game at a time.

Steven A Smith twists with the wind, he's almost as bad as Wilnuts and Cornhole.
