Ibaka should have shattered Marquise Chris' cheekbone or knocked his teeth out. Might as well as he's going to get suspended anyway for the little brouhaha. Thought it was a pretty weak showing by Ibaka.

Why even bother if you're not intent on following through?!

Ibaka is a league veteran and Marquise is just a kid. Ibaka should know better. Pretty stupid.

What did Chriss say? How Hungry Are You sucks.

Speaking of which, we got a preview of the next episode which should be uploaded any day now. Looking forward to it. I hope this passing winter hasn't been too rough on Kawhi.

I'll take Gasol's defense, passing and basketball IQ over JV's scoring any day.
The problem is JV is Andre Drummond's daddy, the Lithuanian plays his best games against dominant bigs. Gasol isn't as physical. Boogie Cousins hates going against JV.

You hit the nail on the head. Totally agree. JV never received any appreciation for all that he brought. For a young guy, it's remarkable that he bought into the team concept and his stats took a backseat as a result. He wasn't exactly lacking high basketball IQ either.

JV is a winner. Improved his game every year as a Raptor. Took the high road throughout and only has good things to say about Toronto now that he's in Memphis.

The way Casey managed his minutes at the end of games was insulting a couple of years ago. But he did not sulk and pout the way most ballers his age do. He used it as motivation and clearly improved.

^more like Casey 4, Nurse 0!!!!!!!!!!!!! They swept the season series yesterday.

Raptors needed a doctor, instead they got a Nurse. Should have got the win.
You are right they swept, but I believe they only played 3 times, once in Nov. and twice in Mar. If I am missing a game please let me know!

You are correct. My bad. I assumed they played 4 games because I knew for sure they played 4 games last year.

Does anyone know the answer to why the number of games varies from year to year?

2 games against every WC team - 30 games
4 games against every team in division - 16 games

That leaves 36 for the 10 teams in the other two divisions. They will play 3 games against four teams and 4 games against the remaining six teams.
^
Thanks for the thorough answer. That's good to know...

The Portuguese Lothario is saying that by appearing on How Hungry Are You, is proof that Kawhi will resign with the Raptors.

I'm not sure, Kawhi is such a taciturn dude (he has no social media presence), he gives no indication. I'll never forget his facial expression upon seeing the ESPN crew at the Raptors dressing room...he looked like he'd just stepped in dog shit.

I heard that the Bucks Malcolm Brogdon has a plantar fascia tear...it's going to be a lot longer than 6 to 8 weeks. Anything to do with the plantar fascia is FUCKING PAINFUL. You can't even walk without discomfort let alone jump, he's probably out for the season.

I had plantar fasciitis, since then I don't go cheap on my feet.

Agreed PF is more like 6 to 8 months...

With VanVleet back in the lineup the Raps look like a totally different team. They just need to stay healthy, and they'll work their way through the Eastern Conference. Brogdon out is huge for Milwaukee. They're pretty deep, so they'll make it through a round or two before noticing it as much. It's just like us missing VanVleet; important cogs to the machine and how it works best.
Our biggest rough patch this year was playing without Valunciunas. And I'm with you guys; never saw the need to make that Gasol Trade. I'm not sure if we're slightly better or slightly worse for that trade; but I do know Valunciuas would be around and at his peak for 2-3 more years. We lost a bunch of games playing very week on the inside when JV was hurt, but every team has their injuries and everyone dealing with health.
It takes a little luck to get through 3 or 4 rounds of the playoffs without injuries. Even hurts to not have Ibaka in the lineup. We're a very tough team to beat if we have a full healthy roster as was seen in the first 30 games this year.

Raps win in OT after blowing a 14 point lead at the end of 3Q. They had what should have been a safe lead with less than 3 min. to play. Siakim was awesome again Fred V solid. IMO Leonard looked tentative in the 4th.
Last night Jonas played 36 min vs Houston he was 33 15 1 and Grizzlies won in OT. Bruno(remember him?) played 40 min. for the Grizzlies. Last time I saw his name he was playing G league for Houston. Wright played a pile of minutes too, Gasol vs OKC played 30 and was 10 6 2. I too miss JV. So far I have seen little from Gasol to make me want to say "good move Masai"!

I guess we'll have to put that JV trade behind us. The team battled against two elite all stars and went 1-1, with both close games, and we led for most of both games. The season is all about playing big in big games like the playoffs. This week showed we are contenders. The team is deep and we have to stay healthy and show composure in the playoffs. Still a little work to do to finish off in 2nd in the East, and more importantly if we make it to the promised land then it would sure be nice to have opening night against the Western Conference Champions in Toronto. I'll be there for that if it happens.

I think the signing of Lin was worse than the Gasol trade.

Should have signed Meeks over Lin.
IMO Lin signing was because they were in dire need of a PG with Lowery on the shelf and Wright gone to Memphis. Doubt he is here next year, Gasol was a trade and they gave up 2 pieces and Miles for an aging veteran. Not convinced Gasol will be here next year either unless he shines in the playoffs,

I don't think we needed Lin. We had bigger holes to fill.

Today's league is all about great long-range shooting. We horrible lack this.

And I don't think Nick Nurse is a good coach.

heartbreaker against Charlotte today. At least it doesn't change things much for us. Can't say the same for Central Florida today. They had Duke eliminated and it just slipped away.

I'd say we've given up any chance at 1st in the Eastern Conference now. Just need to work on our chemistry and health now going into the playoffs. Jeremy Lin is there if there are any injuries to Lowry or VanVleet. Then there's Ibaka, Gasol,, Danny Green, Leonard, OG and Norman Powell. Those are the nine player that will get the majority of minutes. Maybe in the next few games Nurse will give some more minutes to McCaw and Miller to see if either of them show us something.
