Boston loses to Orlando. I'm sure they'll get it together before the end of the season. Great win for Toronto. It won't be long before teams start really throwing their best at us. Our defense really is good though. Scoring isn't a problem either.
The win vs Hornets was almost too easy. Thought the Hornets would be a lot tougher! OG JV both looked very good. No one coming off the bench looked like they were sulking, just playing hard. Greg Munroe finally gets to play and looks, at worst, comfortable in a mop up roll. Raps are unbelievably deep! Siakim playing well but sometimes I think he tries to do too much!

Everybody (13) scores and 12 have an assist and again we looked sloppy a lot of times. Whacked a team that was en fuego early, a pg that was going off early, team with a mission, blah blah, !! Another game we never looked like losing even when this year's bench mob looked discombobulated again in stretches (Delon a bigger piece than we think?). And yes, Wonk, Celts lose as everyone else seems to be trending slowly at the start as they get their crap together. Well, so are we, so kudos to this group for their focus and I think it shows the potential this Raptors team has. Nurse's start has been helped with the V's but he seems to be giving the group the right direction and tools to succeed. Again, early days, not even Halloween yet, but boy, this is fun. Green is a revelation (see blocks last night!!), I knew he was decent but this good? Hope he keeps it up!

Also the new rules re: movement impediment and 14 sec reset have really opened games up. History's keep 'em under a 100 benchmark is now 120!!!! Scoring is up and reset is making everyone a 3 point shooter! And the movement thing, all those cuts and straight lines to the rim drives are just great to see. Games are wild now and if score = entertainment fans will be enjoying this now. Example is last night's game. Agreement all around that defence was excellent last night yet Bees still over 100. Let's see if this sticks (it will) and those who enjoy offense will be in heaven. Having said that, having world class defence will be a great asset in these times!! And we have never had the level of defensive competence top to bottom as we do now.

So bring on JButts, KAT and Andrew and his right thigh contusion! Game four done, 4-0, don't overlook the Wolves and keep it going! Let's go Raps!

Watched part of the final Q and the OT of the Philadelphia Detroit game last night. Casey has the Pistons ready, 1 point win over Philly. Griffin scored 50 including the winning free throw after being fouled on a 2 pointer to tie with less than 2 sec. on the clock. Drummond (16 rebounds) was ejected after his second T, on a great acting job by Embiid late in the 4th.

Blake was on a mission against Embid all game, especially after the flop on Drummond. Coach has them humming and his top five has talent but depth is his heel. But his twin towers will scare many and if Bullock and Reggie step it up, they'll be a handful for all. More to the point is how hyped the 76ers are. Their lack of veterans will bite them. Celts and them are 2-2 but Celts will get better while the 6ers may stay there!

Gameday with the Wolves in town. Let's not let them off the mat ce soir! Let's go Raps!

I predict Raptors to have the best record in the East only to lose to Boston in the playoffs. Why do all Toronto teams lose to Boston in the playoffs??? :frusty:
Maybe they wont be Shaqtin a Fool in the playoffs this year, maybe they'll walk away with thewalker's girl.

Well the Timberwolves have firepower, but so do the Raps. That no look steal by Leonard was the play that made me laugh and shake my head at those DeRozan cry babies. DeRozan was a great guy and loyal to Toronto, but not in the same class as Leonard. As we've said many a times here on this board, there are All-Stars in this league and there are Elite All Stars. We haven't had an elite all star since Tracy and Vince, and even they weren't elite two way all-stars. 5 and 0, on to Dallas.

Re the Leonard DeRozan debate: I think a lot of us were fans of DD. My bitch with the trade was DeRozan had been told he wouldn't be traded then was without being informed it would happen. Even Masai thought it should have/could have been handled better. As for the trade, awesome trade for the Raps, and if he stays even better. Leonard , to date, has been much better than I expected and I knew he was special.

Last night's game was different as once Raps got the lead they looked like they would win easily, but they had to work to get the win. Some awesome plays but some sloppy basketball as well.

Mavericks next...… Hope Wright and Freddy V are back. Wright did not look comfortable on the bench last night, don't think he has completely healed.

I had the split screen going last night, excellent games by both. The raps appeared in control so I switched to the Leafs.

I was going to post this on the Bacchus thread in The Lounge, it's more appropriate here.

Demar who? One no look steal makes you forget real quick. Wonk, elite all star is right definition. Only 5 games but as someone on Twitter said last night "Klaw has done more defensively in 5 games than DD did in nine years". Again DD did us great and I'll never stop being a fan but eliteness is a whole level up. If Klaw can do this for another 100 games or so none of us will ever watch a Raptor team the same way again! Yea, Dawg, still lots to fine tune but that just makes this surreal, seeing how they've room to improve yet they've still to be really tested yet at their current form. Hope against hope but this is getting fascinating by the game. No look f**king steal, what the hell was that! Kawhi Leonard is a Raptor!

Watch out for FVV and Delon and their injuries. Get 'em healthy first as depth is still a fragile thing and those two are integral to the rotation. And 50 and 51, scoring is nuts and those pace of play rule adjustments have exploded into scoring rampages. Can't wait to see what historic point records are crushed at the team and league level this year.

So bring on Luka and Dwight! Game five done, 5-0, don't overlook the Mavs and keep it going! Let's go Raps!

Wright felt tightness last night and with a groin injury you have to be careful and give it time. Steady Freddy has a toe sprain, nothing serious but they can be painful. Unless they are cleared to play, Brown isn't horrible, and needs the playing time.

I felt Dallas, the young team, was probably our 6th win, and they pulled through. Nonething is for sure especially as FVV, DW, and OG all out. We played some 905 guys last night.

Hopefully we have everyone for Monday and Tuesday back to back with Milwaukee and Philly. That's when we know who rules the East!

Wonk, our 11-15 are as good or better than the rest, too. A gleague MVP in LB and Bruno's replacement in Richardson, both showing some NBA prowess. Can't call them 905 guys anymore! And 905 had 80 in the first half of game last night! With Canuck Chris Boucher leading the way, watch out for this guy. Late to the game, he could be a Pascal type. Rap scouting has found gems since Masai started and that's another part of organization that's underrated.

Right now, our 6-10 isn't as dependable and polished as the Bench mob but that, I feel, will come as season progresses. Starting 5 is just so good right now they're putting games away without stress. Couple of moments last night where Mavs should have put us away, but they're so bad they couldn't do it. Only time in this streak, I thought we had pressure but more Mavs ineptitude than good us that carried Raps through. Still haven't seen this team see some pressure and react to that yet. And that's how you are 6-0!

But the next six will be telling. Wonk is right about the back to back to start the week as far as pecking order in the East. Then the first western swing with Lebron and the Jazz as toughies, and Suns and Kings as winnable. Again, this journey, as it progresses has been a must watch. Watching a superstar play himself into shape takes balling to a different level! Finally, wonder what's up with OG and all this personal time? Did I miss a story somewhere? If it's ongoing it's not affecting his play though and wish him the best.

So now, bring on the Greek freak! I guess Klaw will be on him so can't wait for that. Game six done, 6-0, let those Bucks know who King of the castle is! Let's go Raps!

looked to me like it should have been over at the half, but, that killer instinct just is not there. Raps were so much the better team but they kept giving the Mavericks hope instead of putting the game out of reach. Richardson was not very good and Brown not much better until he hit the three. That seemed to ignite him and he played a decent game from that point. OG and FVV were missed. Wright hasn't played enough this season to be missed.

Seeing FVV was a pretty much a late scratch he should be ready for Monday, anyone have any idea what the story is with OG? Wright may be a while, as groins can take a while to heal.

gfe the Klaw vs the Greek Freak....they should have scheduled that for the 31st!

Detroit and New Orleans both go down last night so the showdown for last undefeated team is set for Monday night and the Raps vs Milwaukee. Not even sure if the Greek Freak will play? He might end up under concussion protocol? New Orleans had to sit Anthony Davis for their first loss.

Milwaukee has been a threat for a few years. Now that the Greek Freak is hitting his prime and the rest of the cast is getting mature and figuring out their roles, they are a real threat to the Eastern Conference. Still have to see who's the better the team when both bring out their full rosters and their superstars. Maybe best Toronto lost and loses a bit of the target on their back. On to Philly.

#FeedtheBeast is the new label this year while last year's #trusttheprocess label invades tonight. Bucks with new coach, solid complementary parts, run and gun offense and some solid defenders are rising up the rankings quick. Again small sample size but they are a top three team in the East, for sure while Philly keeps hinting at a top four. I don't think they're ready so I hope the Raps can get that across tonight! Sure the bandwagon got lighter last night but it shows this group that more work is required. Early wake up call can't be bad. Take care of business with the Klaw back tonight and then a strong west coast trip and off we go again! Let's go Raps!
