It's structured to try and stop FA's from leaving small markets as well to stop teams from creating so called "super star" teams.
So if you resign with your orginal team, you can get the most. If you get traded like Kawhi, there's still incentive to stay, and the team that traded for you has a chance to keep you.
If you decided to sign somewhere else, you get to play in the city you want with the players you want, but your going to have leave a lot of clams on the table.

Thanks. So, Kawhi would do much better financially to stay in Toronto. If he leaves, it will for non-financial factors.

Siakam had his dad die in a car accident a few years ago.
We know Kyle Lowry's dad was non existent, but his teenage father figure was killed when Kyle was in High School I believe.
And I just found out why OG missed so much personal time this year. His dad died just before the season started. I guess he had some guys around on the team to help him get through that.
Sad but not surprising. I heard or read somewhere that the majority of black people in the U.S. have experienced violence. I think the leading cause of death of young black males are bullets. Sorry to be so blunt.

I've heard that black women are turning to less well endowed white men because so many black men are incarcerated in the USA.

I assumed he was going to get the key to the city, but when Tory presented it, did it not sound like John Tory asked Kawhi to accept it on behalf of the team? I wasn't sure the way he did it?
