Anyway in the real world the Senate is the investigative body on the fitness of a judge. There is no crime to investigate here. The only thing left is the credibility of the Judge vs this lady. That's all that's left.

And the Senate has given her numerous ways to do this.

Personally I think she is reluctant because the Dems already leaked on her and will do so again. She can't trust them now if she wants a private setting and is already feeling enough heat due to this as well as the delay which caused this frenzy is now making her out to be a political operative.

Unless she comes forward publically this issue is dead.

I always have an open mind. No there is no crime, however it is important that the Senate gets to the bottom of this sexual assault incident.

Nothing to do with the Democrats "leaking" anything!! Obviously, if she comes to testify and this ends up as a..... "he said / she said," back and forth, then it will make her look even more frustrated.

We know that in 1991 President Bush ordered a FBI investigation on Judge Thomas after those sexual and physical assault allegations by Anita Hall. Those investigations lasted a good 3 days. It was passionately backed by the present Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Republican Grassley. Now the hypocrite just wants this to be concluded by Monday and needs Ford's response by Friday whether she wants to appear on that day.

BTW, we do not know the whole story yet about Kavanaugh, unless there is a full FBI investigation. If she remembers exactly who the person was that committed that sexual assault on her and the other person who was present then 100% it did occur. It has tainted her for life, and so she has now decided to bring it out in the open, in spite of putting her very own reputation and the security of her family on the line with death threats from the alt right Trumptards. Well their cult leader Trumpty Dumpty has got far more serious allegations against him, so it is not surprising that they do not believe all these women's allegations!!

Actually Feinstein did leak this. The professor had asked for her name not to go public. Nor did she want to testify. She thought his nom was a slam dunk. Those are CNN's words.

I think she did this hoping she could stay out of it. That others would come forward(as they often do) and she could remain anonymous.

That still no one else has come up led to Feinstein doing this Hail Mary. And her life now so messed up.

I outlined all the reasons for no FBI investigation. And a lot of people agree with that assessment. The Senate at this point IS the investigative body. All that is left is the two people to testify.

Finally if Feinstein hadn't played politics and this information had been turned over two months ago the optics would be a magnitude better.

She messed up. And so unless the professor can prove herself credible it's over.

I will repeat that Republican Senator Grassley who leads the Senate Judiciary Committee categorically did not want the FBI to investigate for this case, but he passionately supported Bush's stance when he initiated the FBI investigation of Judge Thomas in 1991 when Anita Hall brought those allegations against him. What HYPOCRITES these Republicans are especially when that idiot of a President stated that the FBI did not want to investigate this case. As to her safety Senators have also been receiving death threats. The best way to resolve them is in fact to testify as they are an intimidation tactic. Don't give in and they go away.

Nothing has changed. She is being accommodated. They will listen to her.

She said she will testify NEXT WEEK but not on Monday as she wants her safety to be guaranteed. She would rather prefer an FBI investigation first just like the 1991 Anita Hall testimony that was approved by President Bush. Now who is all over the place.
