The situation around Colin Kaepernick is complex, some would have you believe that rash decisions made while quartebacking the 49ners as the reason for him being unemployed. Some would have you believe that Nike is only doing it to sell sneakers.

Be that as it may, seeing a civil war refugee in the add brought a tear to my eye.

Of course Trump had to shoot his mouth off, blacks are convenient scapegoats to his base.

This should be his theme song for 2020, somehow Chrisse Hyne may allow it. After all Putin will show him what that hole is for.

Internet rumour is that the ad will play during NFL games.

If so, I guess the NFL couldn't publicly do much. After all, their public position is that CK got fired for being a no talent a couple of years after going to the SB. So why would they care that Nike features him in their ads. I'm betting that privately they would be pissed as hell though.

Nike likely did this as a marketing tool and I am fine with it.

As many commentators have pointed out it attracts younger demographics and gives the brand a shot of youth.

The old white dudes who are pissed off and burning their Nike's
a) don't buy many pairs
b) are burning cheapo pairs anyways
c) are giving additional publicity to the Nike brand

I like the commercial it has some touching moments
