I would like to know which card pays 3% on everything, if such a card exist.
TD Cash Back Visa. https://www.td.com/ca/en/personal-b...cards/cash-back/cash-back-visa-infinite-card/

Do you really think I would lie???? LOL

As a bonus, you get 6% for like 3 months.

And since I have an All inclusive account with TD, I get no annual fee, a free safety deposit box and free roadside assistance that I personally think is better than CAA. I don't think I have ever paid any interest on that card, ever since I pay the balance out right.

I am all about the free baby! And I love making money from these companies. Then again, I just love making money.

Wholly Shit!
they can Launder Money!!???? ..hot damn I got a few hundred Thousand I need washed thru:very_drunk:
LMAO!!!! You are such a little shit! I love it.

The 3% is only on gas/groceries/recurring payments (you thought you were getting it on everything) and I am already getting 4% on gas/groceries which is the majority of spend on my card and 2% on the recurring payments. The 6% promo is only on the first $3,500 so I think I am better off with my existing Visa.

Right, sorry it is 1% on everything else. That is my bad, I did word that wrong.

They did change the plan of this card. When I first got it, it was 9% bonus for 6 months, and it was 3% on everything. Then it changed to 6% bonus, 3% on gas/groceries, and 1% on everything else. I have had the card for a good couple of years now. It replaces the Gold Elite card.

I use different cards depending on what works best, but this is the main card.

However, as an example, my Rogers account is billed to my Rogers Banks CC, which gives 3% on recurring bill payments. So I let the card pay Rogers and then I pay the card like I would pay the bill directly. I can redeem for anything Rogers, likes paying down my CC, buying Blue Jay tickets, or to pay towards my upgraded phone which is what I am using my cash back for.

For dinners out, I use my Costco card because I get 3% on that. I use my PC MasterCard for shopping at all PC stores and affiliates.

I am at the point now though where I may have to choose and lose a card or two. I have a little too many and I am actually worried it will lower my credit rating then raise it even if I do pay the balances.

That was fantastic! I used to have a different card (MBNA) before but they also changed the rules and I ended up cancelling my card...

I load my PC Optimum offers every week. Even so, I also check my receipt at the end of every shop to make sure I've received the points I'm entitled to. I find almost every week they missing giving me points for one or two items. A quick email to them and they quickly credit my account with the missing points. A tad annoying, but I think it's time well spent. I currently have $325 coming to me in free food/drug store items. I redeem my points at Christmas to fill several shoe boxes as part of our local Shoe Box Project, an initiative that makes sure local disadvantaged/homeless/abused women have at least one personalized gift to open Christmas morning.

Ya it was great then. Still one of the better ones going right now, but clearly not as good as yours. LOL

That is totally awesome!!!!! I like free groceries, but I think I like that idea better. I will be looking into that. Thank you!

I have been doing the PC points deal for quite a few years. I estimate I get around $900 a year of free stuff.

Strange. Just the other day I got a $70 credit cashed at No Frills with the points that I accumulated in less than a year, without having to load any offers or deals or such.
I never load offer on optimum card and cashed out nicely lots of times.

I recently got the Canadian Tire World Elite Triangle card because last year when my car was still under warranty it did not start. I called the dealer and they sent a flatbed truck out to pick up my car and drive it 12 minutes to the dealer. The driver made a bill out to the dealer for $600, which was covered in the warranty. Taking a $600 hit is hard to swallow. I was about to get a CAA membership when the CDN Tire sent me an invitation to apply. The World Elite card has no annual fee, includes car club services, and 5 cents per liter off on regular gas and 7 cents off per liter of premium gas. If you buy gas when the price is low you get an additional 5 cents off, if you buy when the gas prices go up at least you are not paying the maximum. You get 4% on CDN Tire and Mark's, 3% on grocery and 1% on other purchases.

I buy items at CDN tire with my point that are discounted 50-80% off on their weekly flyers, and they have a price match policy on goods on sale at competitors. If you buy at Shoppers with your CDN Tire credit card you still get points on you PC optimum points card.

While we're talking about Optimum, I was pleasantly surprised when I popped into the Independent Grocer to get some stuff and I went to check out Gatorade. It was "on sale", not that great a deal but of you spent $20 on Gatorade you got 10,000 points. That's $10 to spend so essentially half price. If you like Gatorade and collect Optimum points, there ya go. They also have a lesser deal on Powerade.

Side note, the 6 packs were on sale $3.98 .... so if you got 5 you would be 10 cents short for the offer. Sneaky little buggers ... but the 710ml were 3 for $4.98 so get four 6 packs and three of the bigger 710 ....

Optimum before Loblaws bought them used to fantastic. If you worked the sales right you could rack up points pretty quickly. Two years running I had over $1,200 in points by years end. Since Loblaws bought them I barely shop there. I use my PC Mastercard for all my purchases, and usually end up with $500.00-$600.00 by Christmas. Airmiles and Optimum points are a joke compared to what they used to be.

I'm quite naive when it comes to this. How to you load offers?
Email by the email they send, their online site or just get the app and let it happen automatically.

The point to the "points" is they track what you buy most, then give you load offers of points for those items. You can bump an item to the following week if you don't buy it weekly. You can ignore offers that you don't find relative, but if you have the app, you really don't need to do anything.

If you get the PC Mastercard, you get points on everything from my understanding and "bonus" points on your regular points card based on your load offers.

Correct... I used to earn PC Optimum points for every dollar spent at Loblaws using debit or PC Financial MasterCard. I will still earn points on every dollar but only if I make purchases using my MasterCard. If I use my debit card I don't get any points and at the bottom of the receipt it says "You could've earned X number of PC Optimum points with President's Choice Financial MasterCard."

For me, the whole load offers things is usually a waste of time. The extra points offers are always on things I'm not interested in purchasing.

I do buy gas at Mobil as it's usually 4-5 cents a liter less to begin with and you get PC points with every dollar spent.

If you cancel a card this will bring down your credit score. Many people get credit cards with temporary high cashback and bonuses only to cancel a year or two later because of the annual fee. In most cases the most of the cashback and bonus points you get from these cards are paid by the card holder from the annual fee.

Loblaw is a scam. Everything is so expensive there. I don't even know why people shop there.

Download the PC Optimum app. Link your account to it. Go to "Your Offers" then tap the grey check mark. It will turn pink which means the offer is now "loaded". When purchasing your goods open the app and go to "Card" option then scan your card upc code

I currently have almost 400k Optimum points
