Jake Gardiner will be remembered by many Leafs fans for a few giveaways, which is a shame.

Since his rookie season, the Leafs outscored their opponents 398-358 (52.6%) at 5v5 while he was on the ice, compared to 821-900 (47.7%) when he was off.

I have always been a Kadri supporter but I was really disappointed with what he did this time. He put his personal vendetta above the team's interest and it was an inexcusable selfish act. I somewhat defended his same boneheaded act last year as it was a retaliation for a headshot on Marner and thought he would learn from it, which unfortunately isn't the case.

Imagine in a prefect world he would be doing what DeBrusk was doing and more. He could be an effective agitator, play good defense and contribute offense. When given specific roles he had shown that he could be a vital piece of the core moving forward. This brings up the question that if he was put into situations where his usefulness was maximized.

He primarily was playing with 3rd strength wingers, Brown, Nylander, Marleau all of whom had subpar seasons for different reasons. Neither of these wingers was particularly strong defensively, and Kadri is not the type that can elevate the performance of his line mates. He had no specific roles and wasn't contributing as a member of the power play unit.

I would think if they're going to keep him him, they should find a strong defensive winger and give his line the specific role of shutting down the other team's offensive lines. It would have made favorable line matching if they had someone like a Komarov in his prime, they could put it out against the Bergeron line and free up the Marner line.

If they're going to trade him, they would need to get a 3rd line centre back or there'll be a black hole after the top two lines. Centre depth is a major weakness in the team structure and Nylander is not the answer. It'll be much easier to get a strong defensive winger with size and grit to play with him imo.

Seems a lot of Leaf fans are hoping they trade Kadri, the problem is he’s damaged goods. He’s got a reputation now as a selfish player who can’t stay out of trouble. I just can’t see any GM wanting this guy on his team, especially at around $4.5 million a year.

The Leafs are definitely missing one or two "character" players and he (or she) doesn't have to be a HOF'er.

Someone like Tom Wilson, Justin Williams, etc.

John Ferguson was such a character player. He did not suffer fools or defeat lightly.

Gardiner lost complete confidence in himself during those rough games with fans booing him. He had a terrible playoff so much so he was barely getting 15 minutes of ice time per game. I don't think he will be back and I wish him the best wherever he lands.

He was also a dirty player. He broke Bobby Hull's jaw with a cross check to the face. It went a long way in helping the Canadiens regain the Stanley Cup is 68. Hull has never forgiven him for it.

As for Game 7, I was going to post Gorilla Fart, Urinating Tree is a better option.

I suspect he did not fully recover from his back issue. He's a great player that unfortunately will be remembered for Game 7 snafus.
It also did not help that Travis Dermott and Zach Hyman were not 100% either.

Babcock said Gardiner played hurt, which is why he limited minutes. Hyman also was playing hurt. An fully heathly lineup will increase playoff success.

The latest on Hyman, he has a torn ACL and probably wont return to action till after Remembrance Day.

Ah hell, why deny the folks. For your listening pleasure - the Game 7 Gorilla...go to 5:24.

Hyman hurt affected the line's ability to generate offense. You hear that Dart? He's having surgery in a few days. Min 6 months to recover. He was obviously hurt. There were times he just collapsed and could barely get back to the bench.

Hyman is one truculent SOB, him playing with an ACL tear could mean that he may not be back before Christmas, Nov 11 is illogical positism.

Urinating Tree is a Las Vegas resident. I'm surprised he's being objective, no team is spared his piss!

Boston in 7. But Sharks will beat them in the finals.
I was watching the Bruin game when the Amber Alert went on. Not a big deal but it continued long after the mother and child were found safe. Called Rogers and a recorded voice said that if EXIT doesn't work on the remote, then try EXIT on the Rogers cable box.

Anyway, this could be a long series. Game was close and went into OT. Bruins have now won 3 straight playoff games.
