Leafs may be focusing on building a team to beat TB. Vegas showed they can beat a team like Winnipeg last year but they looked very meek versus Washington. It's the formula used to win the Calder Cup last year. That looks like how Leafs see it working.

They lost to Boston last year with no Tavaras and Kadri missing 3 games. They choked in game 7 again. That's the only thing holding them back. Don't choke.

Leafs power play was scaring the opponent earlier in the season. They need to bring it back up to scary again.

Leafs powerplay is now predictable. Opposing teams are catching on, they study game video. The Leafs need to switch up strategy on the PP. Plus the shitty ice in Boston worked in the Bruins favor, the puck kept bouncing, the passes weren't crisp nor tape to tape.

Soft, outworked, easily penned in their own zone, defense not skilled enough to clear the puck over the blue line. If goalie has an off night, their goose is cooked. Not a playoffs team, yet.

Not yet a cup contender, Dubas and company still has work to do. But they are in the right direction.

I hope Babcock keeps the Kadri-Marleau-Nylander together for a while. Marleau has better chemistry with Kadri than with Matthews. Willy has shown improvement and when he regains his form, this line and the Matthews-Kapanan-Johnsson line will be very tough matchups for the other teams' 2nd and third line.

Watched the game tonight and heard this play called "A pass from Aho to Walmark", I though he said "A Ho at Walmart?" LOL!!!!

That is as ridiculous as the idea that the world is entering an ice age.:eyebrows:

Who else thinks that the Leafs won't make the playoffs?

Kadri Marleau Nylander has to be the most expensive 3rd line ever. While Matthews Jonnson Kapanen all under 1 million has to be the cheapest 2nd line ever

Did I say that? Or are you just trolling me? I never said they won't make playoffs, I said they're not a playoffs team, yet. Meaning they will not be able to compete in the playoffs because they can't compete in tight coverage which negates their speed and the long pass that they like so much.

Ok. That was not hard to misinterpret, as you gave no explanation. Sorry.

Should be an interesting test coming up this evening against the Bolts. I think they match up well against Tampa Bay in contrast to Boston.

Best game I’ve seen so far!

Nylander still not in form and made a bad giveaway.

I can’t believe how aggressive Tampa is.

Goaltending was the difference. Leafs 4th line gets exposed. Andersen needed to be brilliant in this game and he wasn't. 2 goals last minute of 2nd in a 1 goal game and it was over right there. Leafs powerplay is too predictable now. Same setup all the time.

Good game with two strong teams. Leafs just ran into a goalie who was red-hot tonight.
