Marner only one shot in last 3 games.
There you go every chance you get bashing Marner. Marner is not the problem. Against a super line playing them even 5 on 5 is a victory. You didn't see last year's playoffs? They were scoring at will. Toronto can't kill penalties. That is the problem.

Why do you think Matthews is able to score this year. Because he is not playing against Boston's super line and Chara. No one else can check the super line and that includes Nylander.

Hyman is probably also playing injured.

If you download the CBC Sports app, you can live stream the games for free. I refuse to subscribe to cable, it’s a big rip off. Would rather use the money to hobby instead lol.

There is also reddit to stream NHL games and other ways to do it.

This series shouldn't have gone 7 games.

Cassidy has outcoached Babcock, he's been able to adapt his line shifts. Marner is banged up from blocking those shots, if he wants to be a superstar he'll have to live up to Sgt Barnes adage and take the pain. Similar with Gardiner who's also playing hurt, Leafs can't risk substituting him.

The Bruins have the advantage, they'll do all they can to shut down AM. It's time for everyone else to step up...now would be a good time for The World Cup Zeitsev to enter the building.

...at least The Raptors are bringing it, Kawhi is a beast.

Wilnuts and Cornhole talked about hockey on Pardon the Interruption - have they no shame. Their Canadian numbers aren't good, they're getting crushed by Tim and Sid. They should STFU and let someone who understands the game speak...even though she's a hometown Bruins fan.

Babs is finally using Tavaras to take faceoffs during the PK. He is a seasoned coach. Don't know why it took him to game 7 to utilize this. They were getting killed on the faceoffs in game 6. Tremendous amount of puck control time on the PP for Boston. Each face off win can knock off 30 seconds. If he doesn't want to use him for PK get him off as soon as the puck is iced. He should be using him for every PK faceoff in defensive zone that he could. It's not like Tavaras can't kill penalties also. Probably would do a way better job than Brown.

It's not 5 on 5 the reason why the series is tied. So all this talk about Marner not scoring or matching Nylander with Bergeron is not the point. It's the special teams. PP and PK. The strategy coming in was to contain the Bergeron line and let the Matthews line make up the difference. They've done that.

Leafs use 3 centermen on one PP unit and no centermen for any PK unit. That is very peculiar.

WTF! Does Bergeron get a bonus for scoring playoff goals? Scoring into an empty net with 1 second left leading 4-1.

Anyway, no Canadian team will win the Cup this year.

So, let the postmortem begin.

Well the better team won again.
How many times can Gardiner lose a big game for the Leafs? On the ice for first 2 goals, the second being the game winner.
Toronto isn’t built to win in the war of the playoffs, great regular season team, but melt under the pressure and physicality of playoff hockey.

Coach Bacock is a genius. He was saving Mathews for game 8.

I know he has many supporters on this Board but where is Nylander?
Not that it was the only turning point but on Boston's first empty net goal Nylander made a very soft play along the boards in the Leaf's end and turned over the puck. He has skill but always plays on the outside - not worth the money he is paid by a long shot in my opinion.

On the bright side I think the leafs are likely to win more playoff series over the next 15 years as compared to the past 15 years.

Bruin won because they was smart going after a hot head hockey player name Kadri . Bruins scout told Bruins management to target Kadri , because they known Kadri will lose his temper. And look what happen in Game 1 ... Kadri he lost control and lost his temper and let his whole team down !! That the second time he affected Toronto maple leaf playoff chance!!
Toronto maple leaf deserve to lose to Boston again and again !!

Leafs will make off season changes. Too much loaded up front. Kadri should be gone and traded for a defenseman. Trade Nylander (I know Dubas promised not to) but he's soft, all skill and no will, no grit. The Leafs young core (Matthews and Marner) plus JT should be intact. Chara got away with a sucker punch on JT but Kadri did his stupid thing and got suspended and the league looks upon the Leafs as a dirty team, so the refs let some of Boston's dirty stuff go un-noticed, give Boston credit they know playoff hockey, they know what they can get away with. That said, congrats to the Bruins.
