Hi, Planning a trip to see the dancing ladies in Montreal and looking for a good hotel within walking distance of the downtown clubs . thx for any info you have .
When you say Sherbrooke, is it possible you meant to say Ste. Catherine? If you want something more upscale, my go to hotel in Montreal is Novotel on Mountain St.
It's in the middle of everything. To the south you have the Molson center, crossing Rue Sherbrooke you have some of the best restaurants in the city. Crescent St is two blocks west and Rueben's Deli is at the corner of Sherbrooke and Peel. Turn right at Sherbrooke.
It's as good as Schwartz with less of a line up. If Maestro's is still around on Rue St Laurent go there. You haven't lived until your had the planked Arctic Char.
You're partially right, Sherbrooke St is too far north, I meant Rue Maissoneuve to get to the good restaurants. Ouch, one of those great restaurants Lo Stivale D'Oro has closed. When you say Sherbrooke, is it possible you meant to say Ste. Catherine?
IIRC, Reubens is on Ste. Cat's.You're partially right, Sherbrooke St is too far north, I meant Rue Maissoneuve to get to the good restaurants. Ouch, one of those great restaurants Lo Stivale D'Oro has closed.
I haven't been to Montreal since 2011.
Thanks, I've had my brain scrambled in a car accident. Thanks for reminding me.IIRC, Reubens is non Ste. Cat's.
Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain. What is the "Cheese Grater" called now? For the young ones that's the hotel with the distinctive round windows adjacent to the hockey arena (which also changes names).
That hotel used to be out-call central back in the day. SPs would hang in the bar between bookings because so many bookings were there. Good times.
