What corruption, it just exposed politics as usually done in the US.
There were no charges as a result, no crimes revealed and still accusations of any wrongdoing.
All it did was a watergate like attempt to make Clinton look dirty by hacking and stealing dem emails.

That shows that Assange in this case acted in a version of watergate, where secrets were stolen from a political opponent to imply they were dirty.
What makes this look much worse is that it appears that the Trump team worked with the 'enemy' to steal secrets from his political opponent.

I'm sure that the FBI, CIA et al would love to charge Assange with the hacking, the only question is whether Trump would try to pardon him for putting him in power.
It exposed the rigging of the primary while taking Bernie supporters cash in donations. They made it appear he had a chance. I'd say when you say a candidate has a chance to win and doesn't while taking money qualifies as fraud.

That's just politics.
Nobody thinks that was a crime.

Which makes this not whistleblowing but hacking and theft for political gain.
Just like Watergate, only with the aid of Russia.

Taking money under false pretenses is fraud.

He hasn't been charged with any rapes?
Sweden gave up on the charges because Assange has been protected for so long. Before that they sent the UK a valid extradition request which Ecuador helped him avoid. Justice?

But sure, buy into this conspiracy theory that Assange is an innocent martyr.

That is what journalists are supposed to do:....
Be a puppet of the Russian intelligence service.

(and I get an old lefty being in awe of the Soviets but it is laughable that you still back a country that is the definition of the problems with unrestrained capitalism)

Careful Oagre. All those leaks that come out of the WH and Congress could fall under that. And every media organization who publishs them.
If those documents require a high level of security clearance and publishing them poses a threat to the security of the country then sure. Exposing the aSSinine (and in Trumps case I spell it with two double S) comments of Trump doesn't qualify.

And despite the comments of others above, Assange's involvement and publications go way beyond hacks of the DNC. That was merely the last thing the GRU had them do.

As I said. I don't know which way this will go. I tend toward the side of the more info the better. My point being a slippery slope applied here.

Remember the president can decide if something is classified. This could put a serious chill into freedom of information.

Good to know that Canadian posters on an escort review board are against freedom of the press. Throughout history the movement towards totalitarianism has always been applauded by the people.

The hysteria about Russia is laughable.

I think it's more to do with blindness because it involves Trump.

The laws of unintended consequences apply. Ask Harry Reid about that.

So a hostile foreign power hires a sleazeball called Assange to pose as a crusader and post stuff that embarrasses rich and powerful people. Once Assange's cred has been established - largely by the GRU feeding him stuff that it has hacked - he then concentrates on embarrassing politicians that Putin specifically dislikes and ignoring everybody who Putin likes in an attempt to "fix" a presidential election. In the course of doing that, the GRU breaks every internet privacy law on the books and then feeds the results to Assange who publishes them in order to distance the effort from the Russian secret service.

And you guys are just fine with all of that??!

Yeah. The fact that Russia basically ran the 2016 US election isn't part of my thinking at all. I'm just a spiteful libtard who hates Trump.

Butler - aka the guy who still obsessively hates Hillary - just delivered a righteous analysis there. Perfectly neutral, as always.

A whole lot of people were when Bush was the target.

I suppose the question remains..... has he printed anything false?

They didn't run the election. About half a billion + was spent by the two parties on ads. It's estimated Trump recieved 3 billion $ in negative coverage from the media.

Everybody knew exactly what he was.

No! I keep having the same conversation with you all the time and you just don't absorb it.

Whether it's true or not is not relevant. The whole point is that the playing field was tilted through the illicit activities of a foreign power, which targeted, spied on and outed ONLY ONE OF THE TWO CANDIDATES.

Sometimes it's just so painful explaining stuff to you.

You could say this of domestic media during the 2016 election.

There was just as much negative material on Clinton.
In fact they were the two most unpopular candidates in a long time.

Complaining about Trump's negative press without acknowledging Trump's ability to make headlines through incredibly stupid statements, lies, attacks or policies is also rich.
Trump courted the press and his lack of filter is what quite a few people like about him.
But its stupid to complain when what he says is reported in the media.
From 'there are good people on both sides, to 'mexican rapists...' Trump got attacked because he's a racist old bullshitter.

But you and no one else within the greater scheme can determine if it affected the outcome.

Do I agree they tried to interfere. Yes. Did Clinton against Putin. Yes. Did Trump collude?

No.

I'd say Facebook and Twitter accepting money for ads from them and allowing the bots had a greater affect.
So are you demanding them to be held accountable. YouTube put up hundreds of pro Trump video and redistributed as well. Are they culpable for the dissemination of the false facts?

Unless it can be Proven he knowingly was a Russian agent I'm sorry but you can't railroad him. Not without applying the same standards to all platforms that disseminated information.

Seriously? The same amount of negative coverage?

That's awesome. That wopper will get you a job as Trump's press secretary if you have the balls.

Seriously? Your thesis is that Assange and Wikileaks always was a "sleeper agent" for Russia and only published documents from the Russian Intelligence service????

Have you lost control of your mind?
