I think the more important question is, when will prostitution be decriminalized? Justine Trudeau cares more about potheads than he does about the rights of sexworkers.

To be honest, I'm glad it wasn't July 1st, Canada day. If it was, the anniversary would be hereinafter known as "Cannabis Day", or something similar. My feeling, respect the day for which it stands. Who knows, maybe Oct. 17th will become it's own national holiday. Not against legalization at all, but even if it had been July 2nd, it would have been fine.

And governments are setting up safe injection sites where illegal activities are carried on without arrests, so why not brothels also.

Brothels now are independently operated with government and LE turning a blind eye except if under aged, "human trafficking" or dark skinned pimps are evident. Do you want government involvement to f%d things up! You have the LCBO, now the fledgling OCS, do you want the Ontario government to operate brothels with a monopoly? Politicians would generally steer clear on the question of legalizing prostitution anyway.

Interesting you throw out potheads and in the same sentence merely say sexworkers. Why not marijuana smokers/users?

Would you be up in arms if someone said marijuana users vs whores?

An important question indeed. I don’t recall Trudeau making any kind of campaign commitment to sex workers. Am I mistaken?

I believe more accurately, based-on the results of the last election, Canadians care more about their rights to smoke pot than they do about changing laws related to the sex industry.

Is there a party in Canada that supports decriminalization? Can’t say I know much about this, but wouldn’t legalization with regulation be an easier pill to swallow for our politicians?
