WTF , a 5yr old girl and a 9 year old girl were shot in a scarborough play ground this afternoon, one serious, the other critical.

I know, I couldnt believe it when i saw it on the news. what the fuck did these babies do to deserve this. I hope they get these guys and put them away in a very dark hole

When you consider the size of Toronto, by comparison to others, it's a pretty safe city. You've never going to prevent the crazies from shooting people, regardless of how many Police officers are on the streets.
I saw the Toronto mayor say that, he didn’t elaborate during the broadcast I saw.
My guess is he is comparing to other cities in North America.
Yes, Toronto has some great tourist attractions. Cntower, aquarium, Casa Loma (nice after some renovations) etc etc.
But we don’t have a Disney or a universal studios.
Ontario place is ghetto now, an eyesore when I walked by.
And, the lakeshore condo expansion has blocked view of the lake and island from anyone who used to live/work downtown.
Poor planing packs all the condo and development into places that cause traffic jams.
When was the last time you passed Ontario Place? It is well on the way on becoming a public green-space composed of a park and trail.

Regardless of where those condos were built in the downtown vicinity, there will be traffic jams.
At least they are trying to build an LRT to the Portlands to avoid repeating the Queens Quay fiasco.
This is true. But it's even more accurate to say that criminals with guns kill innocent people. As usual, there were no legal gun owners involved in the shooting.

Most of the people who are involved in gun crime in Toronto/Gta are Jamaican or Somali. Most of the bad areas in the city are full of this demographic.

The girls who got shot were black, I gave a family member that knows a relative of theirs. So you probably don't care since one of their "own" got hit.

Most of the Jamaicans that cause problems are young men who either came here as young children or they are the second generation to Jamaican parents, and their fathers are usually absent in both cases. For some reason, Jamaicans and Somali's largely end up living in bad areas. Somali's have a different journey to Canada though.
It seems the educated/classy Jamaicans don't want to leave back home. Most of the ones that come here, are not like the educated immigrants that come from Asia. Jamaican men tend to spread their seed wildly and the women keep the kids for the economic benefits. They in turn produce offspring that become messed up ppl.
I went to school with a lot of Jamaican kids. They were loud, ignorant, and mostly taking applied level classes. Most of them didn't amount to shit in adulthood.
IMO, there needs to be more vetting of Jamaican immigrants and more needs to be done to discourage having kids they can't afford.
Look at their deportation rates. Its not proportionate to their population.
Now to be fair, Somali youth seem to be taking over though..
