I think there is different scenarios when it comes to indy rates... no real rule...
In my case i charge the same as i used to charge as when i was at the spa.. althou i dont pay a door fee.. i do have overhead... rent.. utilities..., parking and all sort of other little things (cleaning supplies, oils, candles.. etc... )... just like any other business owner... i dont work out of my home and my incall is DT ottawa..
Some girls work out of their home so they can reduce their rates..
and as to why they charge more.. maybe be because they have a high over head or offer more services than they would at a spa...
And for everyone also there is an initial investment.. in furniture and decor to adapt the place and make it nice, cozy.. comfortable... so you guys enjoy your visit!
It is so true .. As an indy , I like to be able to work in a safe and upscale location. I like to host my client in a relaxing atmosphere where he can enjoy the privacy and the luxe of a great custom made massage table with memory foam mattress , access to a clean and big shower .. A location fournished with taste and to be able to provide towels, different brands of soap, fresh sheets , candles , free parking ect ect ... In order to provide that type of location , to pay my publicity , utilities & supplies , well I need to adjust my prices .. I always have monthly specials for solo and duo that are advertised on Terb , twitter and my website and I am trying to follow the market (taking in concideration my level of services/location.. Of course I can’t charge the same price than a girl that is in the ghetto in a dirty basement and that have no history as a provider (no judgment , just using it as a comparison) but I always try to reward my regulars with specials and to encourage the potential clients to visit me by offering little 30min packages at low prices so they can try and become regulars.
I think the price should be relative to the reputation, the quality of the location and services ..

Also , being an indy is a lot of work outside of sessions ..We are answering text until late and out of schedule everyday . We have to be active in review board , to take care of our location ( laundry , cleaning , shopping for supplies ect.. We need to advertise , to be active on twitter , to built websites and to respond to emails and also to book our own clients. If you take in concideration the hours we put in our buisiness , the «**doorfee**» don’t cover half of the hours we are putting into our job not including the expenses.
