Really? Figure skaters seem to be able to execute dozens of jumps in practice with their arms tucked across their chests until the the moment they land. It's just a matter of making it a priority, teaching that technique and reinforcing it in every practice at every stage of organized soccer.It is not reasonable to assume that every player will be able to keep their arms at their side when jumping for a ball. That is not natural....
I would agree though that the roll-out was somewhat unreasonable and unfair to players in general. Going to a zero-tolerance enforcement overnight after an eternity of loose and inconsistent interpretations put everyone off balance.
