I guess it was expected!
It might be correct but knee jerk decisions made less than a week after the last game doesn't inspire me that a lot of intelligent analysis was used to arrive at this decision.

Too bad, he's a class act. One report I heard stated that he demanded a contract extension and when the team refused they decided to let him go. If that's true it shifts the blame.

I guess winning coach of the year doesn't count for much these days?

I understand why this was done, consecutive years of poor playoff performances. The head coach always takes the fall. But don't think for one second Ujiri isn't looking to change personnel. It wouldn't shock me to see one or more of DeRozen, KLow or JV gonzo in the off season.

Always thought DC got the most out of a fairly talented but not great team. Not sure how much game plan you can have to defend against LeBron. If anything the GM should have found a top defender to match up against LJ for the inevitable playoff series.

What a joke, Lowry and derozen couldn't win a ymca title if they wanted. How many 3-for23s did these 2 chokers have in the playoffs?

I like Casey a lot, great guy, but Derozen needs to coached by someone else in the NBA besides Casey, he isn't bringing out his potential. He has a 21-30 playoff record, and that says a lot, his plays after timeouts has always been bad, the inbound at the end of game one was evident, and he doesn't seem to get proper match ups going, especially against Lebron. 7 years, its time.

Apparently Ujuri lost it on Casey after game three for not doubling Bronzo, also they had a 5 sec inbound violation at some point, change was due.

interesting that Becky Hammon is on possible short list.....wonder how the sports world will react to a woman head coach on a men's team. By all accounts she is eminently qualified and worked with the best at San Antonio. And given this is Terb, not bad on the eyes either. Milwaukee also expressing interest in her.

So the guy wins coach of the year from his peers and they smoke him , but the three players milking millions out of the organization still have jobs ,? The raptors don’t have a top ten player in the NBA
The top players don’t want to come and play in Canada

I'm sure there was lots of analysis. The team's main goal was to beat LeBron and they didn't despite the regular season success. Casey has his strengths but there are some pretty clear weaknesses.

I think that in the end, the Raps need a change to get over the top and despite Casey being a good guy and good coach, it's easier to get rid of him than get rid of Demar.

Time to trade Derozan 3 years left 27 M. a year
Crazy move if it's done. Demar is the face of the Raptors. He improves his game every single year.. IMHO he has not hit is ceiling.

Raptor fans are getting really spoiled. It was not too long ago that this was a joke of a franchise and no marquee player wanted to re-sign with the Raptors.

Demar had plenty of interest as a free agent and could have signed with the Lakers who rolled out the red carpet.

Casey should not have been fired. Masai's next if the Raptors regress next year!

I hope Casey lands on his feet with the sixers or bucks and steamrolls the raptors and their 2 chokers in next year's playoffs

Back in the 6ix
Detroit is interested in Casey.

You can always count on the MLSE to screw up a good thing. Yes I know soccer but they needed to stop looking at anything UK related and bring in other talent, once they did they realized they have a winning team. They are still trying with the Leafs but that's a dead story as I see it and have moved on.

Been a Raptor fan from back in the Skydome days and it's always the same ... throw money here, please come north, fire you etc. It's sports management but your jobs aren't really on the line.

Did you really think you would get by the Cavs with Lebron? And your firing him why? Winning record, coach of the year ... it never makes sense time and time again ... all it does it leaves the fans frustrated. How you think the players in the league feel about this, they call Toronto idiots and take advantage of it.
