According to various reports Jose Bautista has signed a minor league deal with the Atlanta Braves. If called up the deal is thought to be worth $1,000,000.00 per season.

Big Bautista fan here, just hope there is still enough in the tank that he performs at a respectable level!

I wish Joey Boom Bats well.

The problem here is that his bat speed slowed considerably from August 2016 onward.

I love Joey B and wish him well. Hoping he doesn't embarrass himself on this one. If he was the 2012-2015 JB, he wouldn't be scraping along with a minor league deal though.

!

Pretty sad actually. Him and his agent pulled out all the stops. Fist it was they fixed something in his swing. Then it was he needed glasses. Then it was, "there's interested him, he's just waiting for the right deal". The right deal turned out to be the only deal he was offered, and he can thank AA for that.

Braves play here June 19 and 20. I hope Bautista is called up by then so Jays fans can give him a big thank you.

Freddie Freeman hit by pitch last night and may have broken wrist. MLB.tv guy speculated they may bring up Bautista to replace

Yeh, you're right. Let's boo him if he should play here again.
No need to boo him, but how many send off's do you want to give they guy???

So if Edwin Encarnacion signs with a different team in two years, we're supposed to give him another nice send off???

Get over dude. He had a good run here. We gave him a good send off last year, time to move on.

The Blue Jays organization didn't give Bautista any send off. The fans did after his teammates stayed in the dugout to let Jose run out onto the field on his own.

Maybe the Blue Jays will have a ceremony to honour him and place his number on the Level of Excellence once he officially retires.

Until then you're suggesting we should sit on our hands if he ever comes to the plate against the Jays? All I'm saying is to give him a nice reception should he come to the plate.

When did the Blue Jays give a nice send off to Encarnacion?

Get with it dude.

Once he is for sure out of baseball, they'll for sure have a ceremony for him. These are never done while person is still playing. Because these things are never done while a player was still active, I assumed you were talking about the fans/team giving him a proper send off, which they did as you described.

I'm sure if makes the big club, and comes to Toronto he'll get a nice round of applause his first at bat.

Yup that is pretty much spot on! Might even get Perry to agree with you on this!

Love Joey Bats, too bad his career is coming to an inglorious end. Wished he had become a productive DH into his 40s.

During his hey days, he had a K/BB rate of under 1.0, more walks than K, which is inheard of for a slugger. Kept his OBP and OPS at elite levels. His keen batting eye should have aged better into his late 30s.
